The Warriors 3 are taking the p*ss. I hate the power creep it means old good figures are now unplayble. Is it a makerting thing or is it stupidness i know what i think.
Back alley Brawl is good on old figures use it on the warriors 3 and you are one cheesey mother. Sinister Woverine is perfect (if it was a feat) for BaB

Not so much power creep imo but close combat pieces needed to be better to compete with range pieces. The game was being dominated by range pieces. It's evened up considerably over the last couple of years.
We still don't have a good Wolverine. Let's hope for one in the next marvel set.
im just thankful that bricks are being made better they are the guys in the comics that make people poop themselves, but in clix range makes them not as dominate.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to CheeseWiz again.
One close combat team I want to run is a swarm of nothing but Man-Bat and Man-Bat Assassins. Just to see the look on the other guys face when I plop down a dozen bats in a 300 pt game.

just have to be on the right click, when he has blades, outwit, and the +1 for adjacent figs, very easy to crack these guys...
I bet you couldn't make that work 3 out of 4.
It's been said already but I have played these guys in 300 and they are brutal. In 400 with Tbolted Black Knight to GL they are brutal. In 500 with a couple Sifs', they are brutal.
If I make you a trade offer, even if you think it's ridiculous, please at least respond with a kind and simple "Thanks but no thanks."
Don't get me wrong Deathstroke is an awsome piece but if you took down The Warriors Three with just DeathStroke then they were playing them all wrong.
Perhaps his opponent was having a seizure and he took the twitching of his opponent's body as a signal that he passes each round, which enabled Deathstroke to kill all 3 Warriors Three without retaliation???
Aside from this odd scenario I can't think of a reason why Deathstroke alone could do it.......unless the other player really was THAT BAD....but even then.......Good Lord......they'd have to be the worst heroclix player ever!
I'm going to hit him really, really hard with a big green boxing glove............ I'm kidding. - Hal Jordan

I agree that there probably was a better way to play them. I don't have Volstagg so I never saw Warriors Three in action. On the other hand, Deathstroke from Crisis is a VERY powerful fig. 10 and I think 11 attacks with outwit and stealth AND range of 10. He is a unique but I don't think you would even need two on your team.

Deathstroke has 8 range. The best shot he would have at taking out all of the Warriors Three would involve him being on his Flurry/Blades click and getting god-like rolls.

MY personal favorite close combat combination is R Wildcat and Jakeem Thunder. Jakeem (on his 2nd click of course) shares that lovely 19 defense with good ol' Ted. Jakeem also has perplex to give Wildcat either 11 attack or 4 damage. Fly Ted up with Jakeem on the first team, and then it's hello, 8 points of damage from a 54 point figure on the next turn.
Well, Iplayed Warriors Three with Malekith in a HoT game, had him hiding behind the guys, and mind controlling whoever he could hit, all of a sudden Vollstagg was charged by an enemy Hogun, who Malekith promptly mind controlled immediately securing that Hogun and my own Warriors Three +4 in AV, so I quickly smashed up everything around me
I was worried that with the focus of the Warriors Three, the article might lose sight of the overall goal of showcasing how good close combat teams have gotten. But, it seems the point was well-taken. Thanks for the responses, guys!
Heroclix is a strategy game with comic book characters where you can shoot sheep guns and quip with Spider-man and Deadpool. It is played by some of the nicest, most giving people on the planet. That is why I play Heroclix.
I also like adding shellhead to Hogun for the warriors three. It just makes him want to run up and bash someone. It's not infallible, just a little touch which makes him a bit more survivable.

Hogun does not get the bonus from Shellhead since it adds +2 to and Hogun has . Would have been a nice combo with his special power if it worked though.
I played the W3 a couple weeks ago for the first time, in a 500 point game with Crisis Hal Jordan. A suprisingly useful feat on them was Thundering Blow on Volstagg. I'd attack first with him after Fandral outwitted my opponents defensive power, I'd get my 3 damage in, which would raise the other two's damage by one. Then Hal would perplex up Fandral's damage to a 5, and Fandral would flurry away. Hogun didn't even need to play clean-up very often. I was able to drop Green Scar in a single turn with that set-up (although, Green Scar didn't have fortitude, which is a crime in my book) ...
Definitely the premier ground-pounders, once you get them into melee range!
