(No sweat. This is a tough map for getting across the board. FYI, I switched the tokens for Lyssa and Arkillo on the map to reflect their positioning.)

4 R Shrinking Violet 30 pts C18

"We are not blind." Enkafos speaks from the pack huddled in the stands. "We see movement trying to flank u.."
"SHHHHH!" Haasp's rasp cuts him off. "Sweet quarry has been spotted."
"Hunt well, Haasp." Lyssa whispers, consulting the book and marking a new page. (Perplex Haasp's AV up to 11).
With that he runs to the rock outcropping and lets loose a volley of arrows sizzling with the yellow energy of the Parallax powered ring. The arrows find themselves a target so far away from the archer that they catch a Legionaire off guard. (CP Token up Haasp's range to 13, dual target the LO at 18 in case)
Brainiac looks up to see the sky littered with the missiles incoming and starts to fire up his personal shield. (Haasp on Brainiac, 11 on 15, needing 4. Roll is: (3,2) for a 5 and the KO). Not quick enough.
The egotistical Brainiac falls. Too smart for his own good. The hunter hisses on the rocks and refocuses on trying to find a new target.

Could you see Brainiac 5 at that angle? At the diagonal, it goes through two squares of elevated. At least with every other scenario I'm familiar with involving diagonals (hindering, blocking), that LOF would be considered blocked. I'll be able to look it up later this morning, or maybe Melk can chime in.
yeah, i just checked the language, and it says if the LOF passes through a square that is on the rim and not occupied by the shooter or the target, then the LOF is blocked. it isn't passing through any full squares though, it is passing through the diagonal of the squares, so I think the shot is legal. i would have to compare it to the language about hindering/blocking to be sure though.
edit: yeah, it specifically says in the rulebook that diagonally adjacent hindering/blocking are considered to be continuous hindering/blocking. thats why a LOF thru them is either +1 def or blocked entirely. that doesn't change the fact that this particular shot doesn't actually go through any other elevated SQUARES, so the shot is all good. nasty.
It's the direct diagonal, Brainiac could outwit from that angle as well. I've seen it come up a number of times in the old days, but wanted to make sure that it was legal post FF Starter so I asked Melk.
