Okay, I got through 3 sentences before this became one giant blurb in my head.
RELAX!
You're not wrong you know.....WK isn't infalliable, but to get angry over reprints or missing a character's correct representation can be handled much better than a rant.
Think : I'd say 80% of the reprints out there are MUCH better than their original counterparts. I'd be for a WHOLE SET of reprints if they play well and are cool.
It's all good, but try to structure what you're saying with teh following:
1) PARAGRAPHS
2) LESS ANGER
3) MORE OPTIMISM AND POLITENESS
I promise you'll find a better listening audience.
Seriously? The same figs over and over again? There are more characters in marvel and dc than this. Yes, before someone says it to be a smartass, not all of them are good or, hell, even servicable. But, my God, if I see another Hulk, Superman, Jugernaut ect. ect. ect, I'm gonna get a rifle and climb a bell tower.
I know they are going to keep pumping them out, but God, it's soo repetitive. It's days like this that I miss Horrorclix, Indy clix, and Halo clix, just for something i haven't seen in a long while. And, yes, I know Horror/Indy clix sucked for the most part, but I would argue that they tapped just a few of the shining stars of each genre.
I would also argue that there could easily be clix made for the Teenage Mutant Turtles, Buffy the vampire slayer, Doctor Who, not the crappy figs made once in an uber tiny set that no one got.
How about a Judge Dread that doesn't suck as he was a badass? What about G.I.Joe. Transformers (give them two sets each as a gimmick: one for vehicular, one for robot form). There are a thousand other possibilities and, before anyone says they just aren't super enough to be in a full game of clix, I call shenanigans.
Let's give you an overview, Judge Dread took 20 bullets in a single comic and didn't drop. If that's not impervious then I don't know what is.
Buffy the vampire slayer has the strength and speed to take on 7 targets at once in close combat... nuff said. How about the ninja turtles, same as buffy: slightly less strong but the skill should be reflected.
G.I.Joe: all I gotta say is ranged combat experts all.
Doctor Who, well lets be fair here, he's not a physical guy, but tell me he wont devise a plan to wipe out your entire friggin army with nothing but an epic screw driver, and a hottie to make him look smarter than he really is. thats gotta be at the very minimum leadership and mastermind, not counting his regeneration ability.
But here we sit where the only innovation is setting the same played-out figs up as duo teams. Ok kinda fun, but ultimately lame.
Give me some insight, guys. Let me know what you think. Oh and, please, if your going to come on and say each reprint gives different abilities to the characters thus granting them reason to be here then you're only half right. Very few have been worth their salt as reprints go. Sure, there are exceptions that prove the rule, but that is exactly what they are.
And please don't argue licensing, its moot, because almost all rights to characters are usable at this point. To prove it, I simply wrote Dark Horse to let me use three of their characters in a game that I make and sell in the shop and they gave me full rights to those characters for that use. So if they would do the same, and possibly at the most use a portion of sales to the original users then I'm sure it would be fine, its been seen time and time again in other forms of gaming.
So try again before you give me that line of ####.

I also doubt that you were able to write to Dark Horse asking them to let them use 3 of their characters for 2 reasons. Dark Horse comics are owned by their creators. Your writing is worse than my 4th grade students.

Thanks to the Hippie, I read through the original post.
Sure, we could use another Indy set with the characters you mentioned. Is that all you were trying to get at?
Do I have anything against Wizkids remaking characters in new or different ways? Not at all. I'd be perfectly fine with 100 different versions of Spider-Man. Each piece has a uniqueness to it that can be exploited in different situations and often reflects a character at a different point in it's career. That is why this is a game based on customization and strategy.
Other than that I wouldn't mind seeing some clix from other sources, I don't agree with the rest of your arguement.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but your post really needs an edit sweep. I literally could not read it all the way through as it was, and from the sound of it neither could a lot of other people.
I'm going to clean it up a bit. I hope you don't mind, and I think it'll help people understand better what you're trying to say:

And for the record I don't agree with you. There are a very few licenses that I would like to see pursued (Hellboy!), but mostly I'm cool with what we have. I've said it before, but I wouldn't mind too much if there was never another figure printed. We have enough figures right now to go forever, the only problem is that a lot of people seem to lose interest in the game without new releases. If they're going to print more figures fine. If those figures are reprints, that's fine too. I'll take whatever at this point.

If it’s in parenthesis, it’s either my smarmy comment, or I took out an ellipses (…) and put in what I assumed to be the OP’s concluding statement so that he/she had complete sentences.
Is anyone else getting tire of this?

Seriously (we’re getting) the same figs over and over again.(It is my opinion that) there are more characters in Marvel and DC (it’s actually not your opinion – According to many sources there are, literally, hundreds of characters for both companies) than this (that deserve to be in Heroclix).Yes,(I recognize that there are objections) before someone says “it” (See statement to follow) to be a smartass, “not all of them are good or, hell, even serviceable.” But (however), my God, if I see another Hulk, Superman,Juggernaught, ect, ect, ect, I’m going to retrieve a rifle and climb a bell tower (and shoot people? The designers. This is not specified).
Quote
I know they (the designers/WK/Necca (I assume. The pronoun reference here is unclear) are going to keep pumping them out, but, God its soo repetitive (to see the same figures represented over and over again). It’s days like this (Wednesday Nights?) that I miss horrorclix, indy clix, and halo clix (How can you miss a product that never existed? Halo was Action Clix (we just shorten it. Keep that in mind while you are aiming))just for something I havnt seen (played) in a long while (as those sets contained extensive variety and differentiation between characters and sets).
Quote
Yes, I know horror/indy clix sucked for the most part, but, I would argue that they tapped just a few of the shining stars of each genre (must have been viewable by Hubble or something.) I would argue that there could easily be clix made for the Teenage Mutant (Ninja) Turtles (I assume that there are no other teenage mutant turtles that are suitable for clxin’ in the OP’s post), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor who (not the crappy figs made once in an uber tiny set that no one got (that parenthetical is not mine, it’s the OP’s. I assume that he also ended his previous statement and will double parenthesis here to make it more coherent)) How about (Wizkids/Neca makes) a Judge Dread that doesn’t (in my opinion) suck: as he was a badass (in his comic book origins and depictions). What about GI Joe. (the real American Hero(clix)) Transformers (give them two sets each as a gimik (one for vehicle one for robot form (I assume he actually means dials here, but hey, Optimus Prime can do loads of things as a Semi-Truck that he can’t as a robot. Like…carry large cargo loads and hide in traffic…I think….and if I remember correctly, couldn’t Bumblebee, as a VW, do some kind of crazy crumple zone-style charge attack?)
Quote
There are a thousands of other possibilities (for Clix based games) and, before anyone says they just aren’t super enough to be in a full game of clix, I call shenanigins (Personally, I prefer Bennigan’s over them, but hey, we can all dream, right?).
Quote
Let’s (who is the us here. Dunno. Multiple personalities are speaking (remember, ‘let’s is a contraction for “let us” (unless he means lets as in to release or take action (but that doesn’t make sense grammatically)) give you (the reader) an overview (of my opinion): Judge Dread took 20 bullets in a single comic and didn’t drop (unconscious or injured). If thats not Impervious i don’t know what is (I, personally, would argue that Impervious means the bullets bounced off of him or were deflected (ala Superman) and that this instead indicates a lot of health, but I can understand the argument).
Quote
Buffy the vampire slayer has the strength and speed to take on 7 targets at once in close combat (when they are vampires or other similarly enhanced beings). Nuff said (but if she tried to stake Iron Man, how would she fare? I mean, other than the boobies, she really can’t take out Stark. Heck, she needs help to take out her own vampire based enemies).
Quote
How about the ninja turtles: (they are the) same as Buffy, though slightly weaker, but their skills should be reflected (in their dials). GI Joe? All i gotta say is (they are all ranged combat experts all (of them. Including the guys who tend to use Swords. Or poison. Or other weapons. They ALL deserve RCE. And CCE. And Sharpshooter (they shoot at point blank, right?)) Doctor who, well let’s be fair here (why are we starting now? We haven’t anywhere else in the post): he’s not a physical guy (actually, I believe he is. I can touch him. OH! You mean he doesn’t focus on physical COMBAT. I gotchat! We’re creating a contrast here.), but tell me he wouldn’t devise a plan to wipe out your entire friggin’ army with nothing but an epic screw driver and a hottie (attractive woman with large mammary glands) to make him look smarter than he really is (Batman can do it without the ‘Hottie.’ Nightwing can do it without the screwdriver.) Thats gotta be, at the very minimum, leadership and mastermind - not counting his regeneration ability (Really? I’d go for Outwit and Perplex, given his ‘brains over brawn approach’, but again, to each his own.)
Quote
However, here we (what WE?) sit where the only innovation is setting the same played out figs as duo-based team-ups. OK, kinda fun (but not nearly as fun as my ideas) but ultimately lame (because they have been repeated so often.) Give me some insight guys (Wizkids Neca? Or the Realms audience in general?) Let me know what you think.
Quote
Oh! Please if you’re going to come on and (disagree with me by saying) each reprint gives different abilities to the (repeated) characters thus granting them reason to be here (as that would completely negate my point) you’re only half right. Very few have been worth their salt as reprints go (in my opinion). Sure there are acceptions (he means exceptions, but I’m going with the original here – most people accept that Out of the Shadows Batman, while cheesy, is still a neat figure. Same thing with Terry Batman, and even the new BatB AE Batman. They are accepted.) that prove the rule, but that is exactly what they are (exceptions (or acceptions if you prefer (acceptions is not a word).
Quote
And please don’t argue licensing (as that would negate my point entirely), its moot: because almost all rights to (indy?) characters are usable at this point (we KNOW that things like Superman are NEVER contested. Not at all).
Quote
To prove it, i simply wrote Dark Horse to let me use three of their characters in a game that I make and sell in the (local comic?) shop and they gave me full rights to those characters for that use (Uh huh. I don’t know that I believe this statement in the slightest, but OoooK). So if they (Dark Horse) would do the same (for Wizkids/Necca (a far larger company than my own), and possibly, at the most, use (give) a portion of sales to the original copywrite holders, then I’m sure it would be fine (I’m not). It’s (I presume he means the use of copywrited characters by liscensed vendors) been seen time and time again in other forms of gaming ... so try again before you give me that line of ####.
(End of OP)
That last paragraph: I’m going to have to call that one a line and a half of crock. See, I’ve worked with license holders in the past (as an Editor, I spent at least an hour a day talking to various license holders and licensees) and there is no way someone like Dark Horse is going to just rubber stamp a significant profit-making venture. Either the OP is outright lying, or, more likely, the product produced (un-cited) is not a significant capital venture and it’s still being sold illegally. There’s no way around using characters you don’t own and didn’t pay the license fee for and not have it be illegal (barring 1st amendment protections.)

I have been getting the same old Clix for a long time.
I have never gotten a tire.
This really angers me; I replaced all four tires on my Jeep a few months ago and I only have a part-time job so it really set me back.
If I had known back at Hypertime that if I got the same old Clix for long enough, that I would have gotten tire; I'd have played my cards differently.
If anyone out there has gotten one of the tires in question, please let me know how many miles you get out of them. That way when I find out that you got some really cheap, bad tires out of this deal, I won't feel so bad at missing out on it.
In summary: I keep buying Clix and I never get tire.
Geez CommanderCool and Ninjendo...did you guys have as much time to kill this evening as I did?
Maybe we should find a hobby to keep us occupied. I've been hearing good things about this superhero miniature game with the dials on the bottom that came out a ways back.

The clix tires aren't bad, but sometimes you have to pry off the hubcap and sand down the little plastic tab so they'll turn properly.

Eh. Dwarf Fortress has me pinned to my laptop anyway and I'm waiting for my dwarfs to finish excavating a new part of the cave so I can put their bedroom in there. Dwarfs are lazy narcoleptic drunks so it's taking them a while, but they're also dumb enough to let wolves eat them if I don't watch them, so I have some time to kill. There are other things I could, should, and would be doing, but I can't stop playing this damn game.
So, in other words, NO, I absolutely do not have free time to kill. I did, however, make the fatal mistake of letting people talk me into playing friggin' Dwarf Fortress, so it doesn't matter anymore whether or not I actually have the time. I'm going to make it, one way or another.

I understand your frustration, but also think about if you just got into the game and had to wait five sets to get the new batman, superman, wolverine or spider man. I joined just after Legacy sold out and had to wait until Icons to even get my first Batman. And that was a promo. My first good Superman was the promo Supes with Batman TA. If I'd have had to wait until JL to get a decent, modern Superman, good grief! When you first get into clix, you want the really big names. Then, after a year or so, you're ready for some new ones. And as long as the new pieces are interesting, so what if it's the same guys? The new Batman is cool, the new duos are tweaked enough to be fun. Sure, we've gotten green lantern before, but now we get him able to TK two people out in one turn. Super-dee-duper!
