Oh my god you mean IT'S NOT WOLVERINE I figured Wolverine would be the most dangerous person alive in that universe. Every cell Wolverine's body never dying and regenerating at the the same time in a week you'd have a thousand Tribbles with claws
Waiting for the Hardback. But, I don't mind spoilers.
Sorry, my brother! You will like this.
And for you Thanosian fans......he's just getting warmed up. Wait til' he gets that spark in his eye. You know the one.
And that's exactly what I mean...this book was awesome WITHOUT A WHOLE LOT OF THANOS! How great is that? It makes you a fan of this whole side of Marvel.
And I think we could definitely get rid of 2 of the Deadpool titles and 2 of the Avengers titles to get some Cosmic titles going. SHO NUFF!
That "someone else" is the Cthulu Silver Surfer ( although he's got fins and stuff ).
nope. thats namor. i know...at first i thought it was surfer too, because hes standing on a rock that looks sorta like a board and the shadow has him all gray. but hes fishy and look at the trunks...thats definitely namor.
as to who the "someone else" he's referring to? NFC...i went back and looked at the picture and there's no one he missed.
as for the book itself? I enjoyed it. it was better than the lead in for war of kings...but not as good as annihilation or conquest. im liking the concepts at work and it holds much promise and im looking forward to more
Avatar of Death - ain't that what Phyla-Vell became to save Moondragon's life?
Yeah, but then she got fired.
At with a fatal dose of Thanos eye beams. Which left the position open so Thanos could take the job.
I also doubt she'll be coming back before Imperative is over. Probably for the best anyways, since she died or appeared to die an average of once every 5 issues or so. 6 if you include her getting fed to an evil dragon in an alternate realm were she went after she previously 'died'. Even if I never cared much about her, I can't help but feeling sorry for her after DnA turned into a kind of cosmic punching bag.

Well, there was GotG #25, which had the Guardians capture a crazy mindless naked Thanos, and Ignition, which prologues the main series. Though considering how flawlessly Ignition flows into issue 1, I can't help but wonder why it isn't part of the main series.
And yeah, there's no Sliver Surfer there, but I don't blame anyone for mistaking evil Namor for evil Thanos. That's who I thought it was at first, too. Once I thought about it, I'm guessing that Cthulu-Surfer is dead, killed before the part about not dying kicked in. Probably along with Cthulu-Galactus.

We actually already saw Cthulhu Wolverine as well as a few other cancerverse X-Men, Including Cyclops Professor X and I think Nightcrawler in the Realm of Kings: Imperial Guard mini. Very nasty looking. Almost seems like the mutants from twisted even more monstrously then the average "hero" from there.
Seems to me that all of these 'Cancerverse' folks have a theme of pentagrams and demonic looks. Any chance that Mephisto is the reason their universe has no death?

It's hard to say. I think the current going theory is that in their universe, Captain Mar-Vell "beat" death when he beat cancer and somehow his doing so caused his cancer to actually mutate and become contagious, infecting everyone he came in contact with. It was the subject of an old What If? book.

So here I go adding to Kaitouace's sig again, but he hit the nail on the head. FOOM is very playable.
I don't think Mephisto is related to the Cancerverse, pentagrams or no. From what "Lord Mar-Vell" was saying, it sounds like the different universes each have their own, individual Concept Characters, like Death, etc. (Sorry, I forget the term he actually used) So there is probably a Cancerverse verion of Mephisto, just as there is of the other, more commonly tangible characters.
BTW, Mar-Vell may be the leader of the invading Cancer Fleet trying to metastasize the 616, but he serves the "Many Angled Gods" or whatever, who are Cthulu types. They don't seem to have an equivalent in the 616, unless we find out later that they are Evil(er) versions of Galactus, or even Mephisto, I suppose. But so far there's been no real comparison drawn.
And speaking of the Big G... Man, I can imagine him sucking up Cancerverse life energy with a straw. Seems like life so powerful if can't or just won't die would keep him going for a long, long time between planet-sized snacks.
the "Many Angled ones" are straight up HP Lovercraft Cthulhu Mythos "great Old ones"
there have been direct references to:
Yogsothoth
Cthulhu
Leng
and they constantly speak in Aklo using words like
F'Thaghn
Kthl
'Sototh
This is the Cthulhu Mythos's first big appearance in its true form in the MARVEL universe, and I love it! HP LOvecraft culled his Mythos from scads of tiny obscure legends and myths, stringing them together into an insidious meme that would creep out of his stories and into the consciousness of man, and grow beyond what he had written, and he succeeded! now the Mythos is as accessible to anyone as fairies or dwarves or gnomes are. They are a part of our global cultural heritage, and now they have invaded the MARVEL universe! Its really fantastic and wonderful.
I'm a fan of a lot of the elements of this story: Mar-Vell, Thanos, Drax, Adam Warlock / Adam Magus, Moondragon, and of course... the frickin' Great Old Ones! (and I love how MARVEL dubbed them the "Many Angled Ones" stamping them with their official MARVEL universe version... good work! that goes straight into the wiki... I bet, as insidious as it is, it's already in there!)
