I push a lot (and i mean a whole lot) this piece was made for me. healin instead of takin push damage is awesome. it is very easy to keep him on his top click or for that matter keep him alive. i really like this piece.
This figure was, to me, the biggest disappointment out of the Blackest Night Starter. Not for anything the figure does, no, he's awesome. But simply because he's even in it to begin with. First off, we already have Two Hal Jordans in Brave and the Bold. Second off, this was supposed to be the Deputy Lanterns. Who was the Deputy Green Lantern? Ganthet was. It should've been Ganthet in the box, and not Hal. All that aside, I haven't had a chance to play him yet (the place we game is an hour or so drive away), but I have played against him. Kal L ate him in like, 1 hit with the dumpster.
I'd love to see the "proper" lanterns done as clix too - but D'uh, is that going to sell a starter ? .. I'm not going to rush out as a newbie and buy Ganthet (who?), larfleeze(who), atrocitus(who?) .. you get the picture. There HAD to be names people would associate with DC comics, even if they hadn't read the comic .. Hal, Flash, Lex, WW, etc. and lets face it doing a Blackest Night set without the main protagonist, Hal, would have been really really stupid. I would have rather seen less of him in BatB and had some Kyle/Guy/John figs in there. As an aside I just got the GL/ flash duo and took that Hal figure off and glued onto the BN dial. His sculpt looks like he's sending a fist off to hit one target and is targetting his ring at another ... and he's over 4 ft tall
Putting Ganthet in the set wouldn't have taken away the other big names, Lex, Scarecrow, Flash, Atom, Wonder Woman. And honestly, I would've loved to see two blackest night sets. This one with ALL the deputy lanterns, and one with the generals. Atrocitus, Larfleez, Sinestro, Hal, Saint Walker, Indigo 1, and Carol Ferris. So that we could actually have the start of some other corps. In fact, with those two starters, the entire living Orange Lantern Corps would be in clix form.
Perfect for shellhead. always at +2 defense and healing as you do it. Also you can give him force field so on the barrier and energy shield deflection clix you'll have toughness and shellhead will still work because he originally had invulnerability, so shell head the whole dial
Awesome piece. Teamed him up with Destroyer and used Hal's special to bump Destroyer's special healing power, kept D dangerous and didn't cost Hal a single click!
As far as rating goes, I forgive the scale only because of inclusion of that wicked fist construct.

Yeah, you can't put Force field on someone that has a Damage reducer anywhere on their dial. Nice thought though.
Vulture: I'll drop you from the sky and watch you drop like a rag doll! Spider-Man: And this'll be when? After Ock rips me limb from limb? Or after Venom eats my brains? Oh, I almost forgot; he also has dibs on my spleen...
I was completely stoked when I saw the preview of his dial but in actual practice it doesn't work as well as I thought it would. This figure is extremely predictable and whenever he pushes he always becomes target number 1 as he stands immobilized. His dial is also very shallow and doesn't hold up terribly well when he gets hit hard...and he will be hit..HARD. I like this version but his Sp is not as powerful as I expected. It is a very original SP though so I tip my hat to the designers.
much better on paper then in practice, I have versed him alot and he has trouble hitting other figures and isnt terribly difficult to hit himself...this is compounded by a short dial of life. Maybe my opponents don't take full advantage of him but I get an easy 150pts everytime especially using my crisis Sinestro against him, and I have realized quickly that Sinestro is an easy 146pts for my opponent generally and he always defeats Hal when I play so that says alot about this figure.
