And it depends on price too. You have to weight that versus how much you'll play him and make sure it's a worthwhile investment.
I've been able to pick up Black Hand and Nekron for pretty decent prices, but that's because I was able to sell enough clix to raise all but about $20 of what I needed to get both. Which I thought was pretty good.
Me, I'm a big Superman fan and so getting Kal-L is something I'd love to do. MM, while I'm a fan, is more of a want because I think the dial is great and I can use him more since he is under 200 points.
So I'd consider price, playability, and how much you like the character in general.

BTW, I've never even seen Black Hand get to his third click yet (four fieldings).
I have seen his deep dial more than once, but thats because I love to push him. He is an awesome fig all around. Black hand is amazing, I love the characters back story in blackest night and I love the figure, he is very cost effective, great stats, powers, and sculpt.
To the OP: I would have to say if it is something you want and you have the cash for it, get it.
Kal-L currently owns my venue, but that is because half the regulars are brand new players who only have BatB figs (with a few exceptions). I'm one of them and I just haven't played anything big enough to beat him down, yet. The last time I faced him my biggest problem was I could only hit him for one click at a time, and as soon as he got to the first regen click the player just regens him back. I'm sure I could defeat him with the figs I have, I'm just inexperienced and still learning the best ways to use them.
Kal-L is a case of theme over playability. He is definitely an up close monster but there are similar figs that are more effective for fewer points. Chase-wise the only real excuse to get Kal-L over KC Supes is if you want a zombie Superman.
My theory goes, if you have to ask our opinion you are not ready for it.
If you really wanted it you would be writing how you just purchased it.
thanks for all the replies guys! i didnt expect nearly this many. and as for that above, i love clix but have only played once in the past six months or so.... that has nothing to do with it.

Totally did this with Throg. Wasn't nearly the astronomically insane piece I made him out to be, but he's still good.
If I had a choice to get the TBATB chases, Kal-L would be my second pick. You can make a kooky 300 point team of him, Jason Blood w/ Etrigan and the Telephone Booth. My first pick would be Black Hand as he can fit on many many teams, so you'll get your plays worth out of him.
If you're a fan of Superman, Black Lanterns, and/or want to play something different; go for Kal-L
I like him, ive used him 3 times.Once he got destroyed by a mob and the other 2 times he's been amazing. We do play bigger games 500-1000pts so that does make a huge difference.
I agree. You shouldn't even consider paying that much money for one little figure unless you are completely in love with it.
This more than any comparison to "Mary Sue" Superman should be your guide to buying Kal-L (or any figure) of that expense.
I will say though, if you do get him, you'd do well to pick up a Black Hand.
He can effectively make Kal-L's attack a 12 (and is probably why doesn't start with a 12 by himself).
ive seen this piece get taken out in one turn... ive seen this piece destroy teams by himself... dice rolls and protection, u will win! but honestly... Namor is so much better!
Took him down in 2 actions the only time I've faced him.
I pulled him in a sealed the day BATB came out--he romped through the first 2 games, then got waxed by a team of Checkmate Pawns/Knights and Max Mercury.
Honestly, if you're that big of a Superman fan and are going to drop that much cash, buy the E-2 Superman from Crisis.
He isn't an auto-win, but I've never seen him do poorly in a game.

Oh and - 254 + 111 = 360.
I certainly hope you're not an accountant
(The correct answer is 365 )
