I wish people wouldn't say this either nbperp. There are plenty of people who know the rules and how they work that are not orange. This kind of thing has been a pet peeve of mine since the orange has started.

It also comes up a lot, when someone will misinterpret the rule and someone else will disagree with them and say the right rule. Then the one who was misinterpreting it would reply: "I want an orange ruling."

Nope, I actually, way back in the day,when I first started on the realms took a few peoples words as truth.

I even, on some occasions asked for you-Harpua- directly. (go ahead, check my posts, but it was a Looooong time back)

But, it is what it is, and I hope the ask for Orange thing fades away, and the whole mentality of it.

I think the orange-ness does more good than it does harm. Like Harpua said, if it was gone, then

(a) The same folks that say "I want to hear from an orange" would simply say "I want to hear form someone official" or "...a deputy" or "...the RA"

(b) For the threads where there is an argument/debate, you wouldn't have an easy way to see what the official stance is. With orange, if you're scanning a thread and it's got a lot of back and forth, you can easily page through to find something that should be able to give you the summary in a nutshell.

So, given a choice, I'd rather have it than not. But me and the deputies volunteer our time on these forums, just like everyone else. We love and play this game, just like everyone else. A right answer is a right answer and more often than not, if the person answering has rules text quotes to back them up, they are on target.
