I played at a venue and the judge said that his value was "locked", which meant what he rolled was what his damage became permanently. He was rocking a 6 damage the rest of the game. Good thing he got taken out quick though. I knew it wasn't right I just didnt have any way to prove it.
Nobody had a current rulebook, or access to the internet? The definition of "locked" is right there in the rules. I know it's a relatively new rule, but still...
I'd suggest that if your judge has a pattern of making mistakes like this, you always bring a rulebook with you.

And keep in mind that Symbiote Blade has been errated to only be locked for the attack. So if Carnage uses Flurry with Symbiote Blade, he will roll for the damage value for each attack.
From the Player's Guide:
Quote
Symbiote Blade ends ―…and is locked until the attack resolves.
A few weeks ago a player used Carnage at our tourney and put the feat card Extended Range on him. If you roll a 6 for the range "Blades" your damage is 6 at a range of 7 (due to rule of 3) on his starting clix. Very nasty.
Once people realized that, he became the first one taken out.
