I'm not saying that you guys are avoiding combat here...you are both welcome to whatever strategy you see fit and I know this is tough for you both.

However, games end on Friday and I sure would hate to see a rolloff. Or a discussion about how strikes do/should work in non-KO game resolution.

Hopefully you both get a chance to hit each others team in the mouth soon. It may be cathartic.

So Dissent trumps Batman Beyond's specialized Outwit?

Dissent:
When the character uses Outwit, it may choose to counter a team ability possessed by a single target opposing character as if that team ability were a power, instead of countering a power.

bats beyond can only counter standard and named powers, but he is still countering powers. dissent lets him counter a TA as though it were a power. he just has to make sure that he is pretending the TA is a standard power instead of a special one.

Which is the crux of the problem isn't it? One can easily make the argument that even if treated as a power, a TA isn't a standard or named power. In which case, Dissent wouldn't work.

The Dissent question aside, JLA Sat win this one.

Back to the Dissent question, I've been looking into this and couldn't find an answer to it. Although I would think that it works. All is needed to work for Dissent is the prereq of Outwit, which he has. For other feats, the stipulations for the Special Power never factored into how a feat would work. But that's just my thought.

That's no nearly true. Equipping him with Brilliant Tactician, while legal, he'd still only be able to target himself.
