I enjoy anime quite a bit, but I wouldn't want it in clix form. The anime's that would translate well into a superhero game are the superhero type shows (DBZ/Bleach), but unfortunately the archetypes are just way too derivative. Everyone gets hypersonic, super strength, flight, and a trait to give them phasing teleport. Mission accomplished.
thats why i didn't mention DBZ. i guess bleach would be that though.
but ones like trigun & FMA & darker than black where they weren't that stereotypical would be perfect. they got that superhero-y feel with a variety of powers(especialy darker than black).

I'd be interested in seeing ideas for an Anime-Clix set, but I'd prolly only buy a couple singles - I don't know how crazy I'd go for it.
That's prolly why most anime-games have remained in Collectible Playing Card Formats.
1st of all cowboy bebop is awesome
2nd i must look these card games up....

If Wizkids thinks that they can make money off of this, then fine.
They aren't likely to get much, if any, of my money, but I am not the only customer out there (something that some people seem to be oblivious of).
Obviously, giant mecha are not a good fit, as they would best be done as colossals and I wouldn't expect any large sets for this sort of thing, just small sets possibly including single-figure boosters.
But Wizkids is looking at expanding the Heroclix brand to include more than just Marvel and DC. If they can get the rights to make a "Battle of the Planets" set, then great (and I may buy some of that).
I know that Gatchaman is the source, and some people may complain about that, but I am guessing that Battle of the Planets is better known to more people in the states. At least those of a certain age.
Include the five members of G-Force and 7-Zark-7 as heroes, and then Zoltar and three different Spectra agents as villains (agent, operative, and elite agent, maybe), and you have a ten figure set all ready for the single figure booster treatment.
Heck, they could even rename the figures for international sets if they wanted to. Don't know what they would call 7-Zark-7, though. Maybe just call him "robot" and be done with it.
But the biggest part of all of this is the success of the single figure boosters and fast forces packs.
If those fail, then these smaller sets are going to have an uphill climb to make it to market.
Even if they eliminate single figure boosters, they are still going to have to think about whether or not paying for the license to make a six-ten figure set from whatever is going to be worth it.
I like to play what I like. I am glad that Halo is getting it's own fast forces pack/set of whatever size rather than getting lumped in with a bunch of stuff that I have no interest in, but that allows us all to be more selective, and the selectivity may lead to lower than expected sales as we become pickier about what we buy.
If they make these, i'll quit the game. Smuf clicks would be ok, but anime just takes it too far.
No, seriously though, whatever floats people's boats. I wouldn't spend a single dime on it, but if you want my Green Lantern to thrash your sword-wielding supernatural teenager, then i'm all for it.

If we're going to talk about "superhero feel" and varieties of powers, we ought to go straight to the classics:

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Now THOSE would be some fun Clix.
Dude, back in the day when I first saw shadow king, negative woman and Johnny thunder's sculpts, it reminided me so much of how I would have imagined Stands in clix.
DBZ is a bad choice because everyone has the same basic power set, but Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece have a wide enought variety of superpowers that could compete with those in american comics. Plus Akira, we need akira.
I am not IN-sane. In fact I am so far OUT of sane that you appear a tiny blip on the distant coast of sanity.
Not removing until we get a Tron Bonne

You mean Magik? (who is LONG overdue for a remake, GSX anyone?)

we're totally Grumpy together!! But seriously the problem is many Anime fans will say the same about Western comics but I honestly believe it varies on what you read.
That said: Anime shops make me want to vomit as does their wares
Very true, it's all very subjective.
Just like asking someone which Vietnam movie is the best; people who saw Platoon first will answer Platoon, those who saw Full Metal Jacket will answer FMJ and those who saw Predator first will scream "CONTACT!"
"I just sold you for a cigarette and I don't even smoke!" - Monarch, The Venture Bros.

I tend to base Clix I want to be made on silly things I could do during a game.
Yelling MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA as I roll for Flurry would be so much fun. Having alternating choruses of "TETSUOOO" and "KANEDAAAA" also qualify.
A colossal Blob Tetsuo with a scenario map would be very cool, as well.
edit: Making a couple Guyver clix in a collector's set would be interesting, except they would all play similarly and just be another high-cost flying HSSer.

Heyo - thought I'd try to catch you again on this one. I am an avid gamer of all types, shapes, and sizes. There were two awesome card games by Score Entertainment for DBZ/GT and Bleach. I own a ton of them if you're interested.
.Hack has a card game as well, but I am unsure of the company that does it. Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha have one as well.
And yes, Cowboy Bebop is nothing short of amazing. Best limited cartoon series ever. Very artistic, stylized, and it had a wonderful movie.
Look out! Here comes your friendly, neighborhood SpideySteve. Catching comics and writing reviews like a Spider can. Thwip!
The problem with anime clix is the same as with Indy clix in that its a licensing nightmare. You could do it but it'd be more realistic to focus on a specific publisher (Shueisha would probably be the best as Shonen Jump naturally as lots of comparable series). Then the series themselves are not necessarily suitable. Some of the popular series, such as Dragonball and Bleach, just wouldn't work.
There are however some great series which would probably work though (One Piece, Naruto, Shaman King and Katekyo Hitman Reborn are all series with a western presence and a large variety of styles that can easily fit the game).
Personnally I'd be sold on either a Bubblegum Crisis set although I doubt anyone else would be.
I'd love to see Vash the Stampede make it into Heroclix form, along with the crew from Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and probably Bleach. Something like Berserk would probably work well too.
That having been said, unfortunately some of the best/most interesting animes just wouldn't fit well due to their nature, like FLCL and Paranoia Agent.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
