As much as I love and respect the original of anything, Breaking the Law is just such an iconic song due to an intro riff that takes you by the balls and makes you listen.
See, I can't help but associate it with Beavis and Butthead. And that kind of strips away a good part of its badassery. I'm going to go with Chuck Berry and one of the signature opening riffs in rock history.
It kind of breaks my heart to vote against Judas Priest here, because I really like the song and the guitar parts really support the mood of the song. Especially since I've been determined in all of these matches not to let nostalgia determine my vote. But Chuck Berry just plays the living daylights out of this song.
This is a classic song by Judas Priest, and when I was younger it was one of the songs that got me into them. But to me, this song is more trying to be radio friendly/hit single, and while the riff is catchy, the soloing isn't all that exciting.
Johnny B Good on the other hand, has a great sound AND a great solo.
I'm going with the master on this one: Chuck Berry - Johnny B Good.
