Billy Gibbons' guitar work isn't bad at all, but it's a very commercial sound for him. It's not risky and doesn't take a lot of chances.
Then we have the Brad Paisley song with a very catchy guitar riff and solo. Is it also commercial? I don't know much about country so I can't say, but there's a nice throwback sound to it that has rockabilly written all over it. There's a certain Led Zeppelin sound from their song 'Hot Dog' off of their album In Through the Out Door.
YEEEE HA! This ones a toughie. I'm a gunna go lissen to 'em both agin!
I agree with the Guru. I hate to say it, but I'm voting against Billy Gibbons. Billy has one of my favorite sounds (check out "Heads in Mississippi"), but on this song he's playing it safe. He's got two good jams going on, he's in a groove, but he's not taking chances and going to the next level.
Brad Paisley's song, though, has a crazy guitar, a nice piano, an aggressive banjo, and an impressive fiddle. Seriously, this generic sounding song is bringing it big time.
