my next big project isn't comics, it's better, easy to access boxes. I'm going to get some of those boxes that slide like drawers and organize all my core collections and runs into them. Then I'll use the old boxes to sort the remaining comics for trade or sale.
Missing 2 issues of Greek Street, planning to track down everything from New Avengers(Vol. 1) that I didn't pick up before the Heroic Age relaunch, as well as the issues I'm missing from both Mighty and Dark Avengers, plus Nova(Post-Annihilation series), Guardians of the Galaxy(Post-Annihilation Conquest series), the Charlie Huston-penned Moon Knight series, and the Initiative-era New Warriors series. I plan on having complete runs of Uncanny X-Force, the current Wolverine books(Wolverine and Wolverine: Best There Is), X-23, Avengers(Heroic Age), New Avengers(Heroic Age), Rucka's Punisher book(after it starts), and so on and so forth concerning my pull list.
I have a complete run of West Coast Avengers that I finally finished last year.
I'm currently working on:
The Walking Dead - missing 1-5 and 3 other issues
Spiderman (1990) - I have 1-50 and a few random issues later on
X-Men (1991)
G.I. Joe (Marvel) - I'm only missing 15 issues for a complete run 1-155
Every Issue with Thanos - this is my biggest project, I thought I had a lot until I found comicvine.com
Every issue with Lobo
Kudos to everyone who is looking for complete runs of non-Marvel, non-DC books.
Spike1138, I especially wish you luck in the Miracleman hunt. I bought those issues of the racks back int the day, and I know how hard they are to find now.
If anyone is looking for good (old) Indy Series to hunt for:
Bill Willingham's Elementals
Scott McCloud's Zot!
I've mellowed in my hunt for complete runs. I'm trying (not seriously) to complete the Secret Six runs...even just using TPBs, but I'm lazy and not using the Internet.
All I need to complete my All New/All Different - Uncanny X-Men run is;
Giant Size #1 and issues #94 -144.
I came to the X-Men originally with #1145/146 - and never left.
Though over the years a good chunk of the '80's stuff was lost/just didn't survive.
I've been slowly re-adding the missing issues back to my starting point. (it's been something to do, not a burning priority)
That's finished.
Now comes the expensive leg of the run....
Well, like others, I will never finish it, but my first favorite was Fantastic Four. I think I am about 6 issues shy of #'s 200-400 and about 20 shy of #'s 100-200. I have picked up a few pre #50. I think I have stashed away a decent #48, but the only way I could ever afford 1-50 is if I won the lottery or some-such. Plus, it was a pain to keep up through#400, and got really cruddy for a while. If I finish 100-400 and pick up keys here and there, I will be happy with it though.
My newest project is to try and pick up every comic book that came out in Aug, 1966, in VF or better. I think I have about 6. I have a long way to go, and expect not to be in a hurry.
Also, as another long-term project, is to get some comics published March, 1934-
X-Factor Vol. 1 1-149
Batgirl Vol. 1 missing about 8 issues
Captain America Vol. 1 have over half the 354 issue run
Captain America Vol. 2 1-13
Captain America Vol. 3 1-38 of 50
Captain America Vol. 5 missing 2-4, 6, 7, 9-12
I have a complete run of Flash vol. 2. From #1 in 1987 through #230 in 2006 I have all the annuals and all but a few of the related one-shots that came out during that period.
My local comic store is supposed to be holding a set of Flash: Fastest Man Alive, which replaced Flash vol 2 in 2006 for 13 issues. Once I have extra money, I'll pick that up. Then I just need Flash vol 2 #231-247 (came back after Fastest Man Alive) and I will have every main Flash book since I was born.
I have everything Green Lantern from Green Lantern: Rebirth onward (Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Emerald Warriors). I also have everything Hulk starting with Planet Hulk (Incredible Hulk, Hulk).
Newer stuff I am getting is everything Avengers starting in May 2010, and then Uncanny X-Men (starting with Second Coming) and Uncanny X-Force.
Venue: The Gaming Goat in Elgin, IL. Find us in the WizKids event system.
My next mission is to complete volume 2 of Wonder Woman. I am also only one issue away from completing Witchblade. That darn Fan 1/2 issue, not to be confused with the Wizard 1/2 issue. If you have one let me know.
It is also my hope to procure the full run of the black and white magazine for Space:1999.
I would get the two issues of Werewolf By Night to complete my Moon Knight collection, but I need to win the lottery first. LOL!
To all the haters out there, I am the proud owner of every issue of BOOSTER GOLD baby! A Boosterrific fan from the 80's.
I collected all of the main Winnick Outsiders 1-50 with the exception of issue 33. Plagues me to this day. I really have to dig out my series and put it in a seperate box as I usually re-read it once a year or so.
What I REALLY want to do is collect every Outsider issue, but that will take years to complete. Not to mention the latest incarnation of Outsiders by DiDo is really bad. I am happy with my collection, but I really want to get issue 33 and the side issues besides the annual.
