Sorry about the whole "emergency" snafu last time. Here's a tourny info update for everyone.
1. Those of you that went to the tourny on Dec 11 will receive some sort of compensation. You SHOULD have received the prizes but due to miscommunication the prizes were not given out. Either message me or talk to me in person, and I will make this right.
2. There are no more tournaments during December. I must have been really distracted for the previous post of mine, because I indicated that I would "See you next week." It should have said "See you next month." Thanks to Mark for pointing this out to me. I will be posting the tourny dates next week and most of the formats so that we do not have these snafus anymore, and so that people can plan accordingly.
Sorry about all these errors. I hope to see everyone again in the coming months for Hulk and the Infinity Gauntlet challenges. Happy holidays!
Hey all!
The holidays are over and Hulk is here! It's time to start up our rounds of tournaments again! Here are the next three tourny dates and times and scenarios!
1st Week: Jan 8th Modern Format! 2:00 P.M.
2nd Week: Jan 15th Sidekick! 1:00 P.M.
3rd Week: Jan 22nd Infinity Gauntlet! 1:00 P.M.
See below for formats, prizes and other things! LONG LIVE CLIXS!
At the start of the game you must designate one character as "The Big Guy" and one as "The Sidekick." "The Big Guy" must cost at least three times more than "The Sidekick." If you do so, "The Sidekick" gains the following trait:
"This fig may use mastermind, but only to the fig chosen as 'The Big Guy.' This fig may use mastermind on 'The Big Guy' even though 'The Big Guy' costs more points."
The Big Guy gains the following trait:
"This figure has the carry ability and ignores the -2 movement penalty if it carries 'The Sidekick.'"
Clarifications: You do not have to play with a "Big Guy" or "Sidekick."
If you have a fig that can already carry they do not gain the ability to carry more than one fig. If you have a fig that can carry more than one person and it is carrying "The Sidekick" it still ignores the -2 movement penalty.
Due to the cost of obtaining the prizes for the Infinity Gauntlet events, the store owners have decided to charge a one time fee of $10 per person for the Infinity Gauntlet events. This one time fee covers ALL Infinity Gauntlet tournaments, but does not cover any other additional costs (such as the cost of packs for sealed events).
Players are NOT "banned" from any other Infinity Gauntlet tournament if they have not yet paid the fee, and while supplies last, will be awarded retroactive participation prizes.
That is, even if you can't make it to the first Infinity Gauntlet event, don't worry. You can show up for a later one. You will still have to pay the $10, but will retroactively receive participation prizes (but not points towards the final event) as long as we have them to give out.
The first Infinity Gauntlet event is as follows:
Prize: Winner: Adam Warlock 2nd Place: Adam Warlock Fellowship: Adam Warlock Participation: Infinity Gauntlet
Points: 300
Format: Two Hulk booster pack sealed event. Swiss Rounds
Buy two Hulk boosters and draft the best 300 point team you can from your figs!
Long Live Clix!

Reason: Info Update
4th Week: Jan 29th
Sidekick!
Since we had a low turn out the last time I ran this scenario I'm running it again for this week. Note that the cost for "The Sidekick" has been reduced to double as opposed to triple.
Prize: Winner: Black Bolt Fellowship: Black Bolt
Points: 300
Format: Swiss Rounds, Golden Age, Timed: 45 minute rounds.
Special Rules:
At the start of the game you must designate one character as "The Big Guy" and one as "The Sidekick." "The Big Guy" must cost at least two times more than "The Sidekick." If you do so, "The Sidekick" gains the following trait:
Special Rules:
All characters are immune to all damage from attacks, except for the lowest cost character on your team.
Clarifications: Characters are only immune to damage from attacks. They still take damage normally from pushing, the mystics team ability, damage from hitting a wall due to force blast, critical misses, poison, mind control feedback damage, and other effects. Characters are still effected by outwit, perplex and other game effects. Characters only ignore the damaging effect of attacks but not other aspects (that is, they can still be mind controlled, or incapacitated).
4th Week: Feb 12th.
"Fend off Galactus!"
Prize: Winner: Orb of Ultimate Power+Map Fellowship: Orb of Ultimate Power+Map
Points: 300
Format: Golden Age, Swiss, 45 min. rounds
Special Rules:
Galactus' Machines: The four center most squares will be marked with a special token. These squares are considered opposing characters for targeting purposes and line of sight (but not break away), and line of sight to them is not effected by hindering terrain. They are considered to have a defense value of 16. Every clix of damage done to these special tokens (which represent Galactus' world converting machines) give the owner one "machine point" at the end of time whichever player has the most machine points wins, regardless of actual points scored.
Clarifications:
The game end when time is called or when all of one side's forces are KO'ed. The defense value of the "machine" can be perplexed, but it only effects an individual square, and otherwise follows the rules of perplex. The special tokens cannot be moved or placed. Normal points are still tallied for tie breaker purposes. Overall "machine points" do not effect overall standings, they only determine if a player wins a round or not.
