Now, some argue that Jimmy Olson and Perry White shoulda made the set, but I’m glad they didn’t. I’m not sure what they would bring to the game, and I fear they would have been simply a slot stealer in this set, much like MJ was for me in Web of Spider-Man. As Hulk would no doubt agree, who needs these puny humans? Give me heroes over regular folks any day.
I think Jimmy, Perry, and Lois should have been in to give Superman bonuses for defending them.
The reason every Superman is a mess of powers that doesn't feel like Superman is because they don't have his personality. He needs regular people to protect (And some incentive for you to want to play him like that). They should be his biggest weakness and his biggest strength.
I am slightly unhappy with all the legion of superheroes figures. One guy I was hoping would make the set is Paragon. He has the ability to steal and multiply the powers of any organic being for a limited amount of time. His dial could have been epic. He was pretty much about to beat the crap out of Superman and he likely would have.
Imagine his dial being X clicks long or something. Say "as a free action" that if he has no action tokens to choose a character on the map within X squares and copy their dial with their unmodified values and he possesses all the same powers (maybe even traits). Then, once per turn, choose 2 of those values to modify +2. If the character he is copying tries to attack him, their attack value is -1.
I just see some cool abilities show up and then sometimes characters come out who can remove items from the field. I've seen it before...thanks. Time to push the limits.
Outstanding article. Loved it. But you shut your pie hole about dropping the LSH out of this set or you and I are gonna be moving some furniture around in this room!
Mercy and Hope are the same sculpt as well I believe. Also I think Ursa and Kryptonian Infiltrator have the same sculpt, although Ursa's has fire added.
There's also Starboy/Starman and Superman/Superman Robot, which altogether bump that 3 up to a 7.
I really appreciate the LSH figures, but I think I can comment on this:

Maybe they just don’t have as many big guns as some of the other teams. Maybe it’s because they don’t have a monstrous grounded brick. I don’t know. But maybe the new Wildfire will change that opinion a bit.
In my experience, WK designs too many LSH dials with not enough raw damage, especially for the point cost. 70+ points for dials full of 2 damage (and many case of zero range) just do not make for a team that is competitive by itself. The best part of the LSH starter was that the dials in that set didn't have this problem!
Once you start factoring in that they lack deployment synergy (almost 100% fliers that cannot carry each other), you are left with small forces mostly with dials that require a huge amount of finesse and slow play that simply are not as appealing as other options.
1 – Number of figures whose dial was directly plagiarized from a prior set. All-Star Bizarro bears this badge of shame as his dial is simply the first chunk of Vet Icon Supes’ dial – in reverse. Didn’t see that coming did you? Hardly inspired, they could have at least given the poor confused devil the whole dial. Or for some real insanity, the dial of the new 300 point #001 Superman’s dial in reverse. Stealing something fresh and new is better than stealing something old and retired. And I would argue that since the two of them are supposed to be pretty evenly matched, that would also be more fair to Bizarro. Those bad guys, even the misunderstood ones, never get a fair shake, I tell you what.
Wow, I'm surprised by how many people that rubbed the wrong way. I thought it was fun and novel, not uninspired. I really enjoyed seeing it.
