Superman hands down. I see superman giving goku a heat vision lobotomy from space. Goku doesn't die, just becomes a vegetable.
NOT THIS AGAIN
It largely depends on if the energy Goku uses is mystical in nature futher more CELL KILLED GOKU. Not only did Cell kill Goku he WRECKED Gohan too and the primary reason Cell lost to Gohan had to do with the fact Cell traded speed & agility for raw power. But the fatal blow wasn't delivered until Gohan (with a broken & dislocated arm) tapped into the spirit of Goku and delivered a synchronized Ka Maha Maha Wave.
Stupid exaggerated statements:
Superman would totally win because in the original Dragonball series, Goku couldn't even fly without the help of a cloud, what a wuss.
Goku would totally win because when Superman first landed on earth, he hadn't charged up from the Sun yet so Goku would just punch his infant head in.
Point: If you're going to compare characters, compare them at their absolute strongest levels. State whether or not you're including alternate story lines, and if you do, do it for both characters. Don't cherry pick things, it's a logical fallacy.

I can see this ending in horrible, fan boy bloodshed. But whole this thread is still reasonable, Superman fanboys (and anime haters) consider this:
Goku is actually a (very loving) homage to Superman. They are mostly the same character. They both were (are):
1. The 'only survivor' from an alien race, whose planet's destruction they only barely escaped in their little infant escape pods.
2. Found and adopted by rural parents, who raised them not only as humans, but also with a strong sense of justice, kindness, compassion. Believe in fairness and selflessness.
3. Have extraordinary superhuman powers due to their alien ancestry including: Super strength, energy projection, flight, hypersonic speed, massive invulnerability. Yet they were taught by their adoptive families to use these powers with responsibility.
4. Discovered new powers and abilities as well as an increase in strength as they have aged.
5. Have taken to considering their adoptive planet as home.
6. Would gladly give their lives to protect the innocent.
7. Defended the Earth form a variety of enemies including: Mad scientists, evil killer robots, various alien threats, cosmic despots, powerful wizards, ancient demons, threats from the future, and biological killing machines.
8. Avoid killing under all circumstances. Even if it means their own deaths.
9. Have adventured to other dimensions, planets, planes of existence to stop evil.
10. Have died fighting the perfect genetically engineered weapon.
11. Have battled a group of three survivors from their home planet intent on conquering Earth (Superman 2 is cannon, right ).
12. Hold back when fighting initially until they have gauged their enemies strength so as not to use unnecessary force.
See, Superman and Goku are not so different. They wouldn't even fight each other unless it was to test each others strength. So why can't we say they shake hands and both win.
I am not IN-sane. In fact I am so far OUT of sane that you appear a tiny blip on the distant coast of sanity.
Not removing until we get a Tron Bonne
What happens if Batman gets a woman pregnant without revealing his identity?
It becomes Batbaby with no true identity and thus no weakness. Then it goes on to train itself with an inborn knowledge of every martial art for and meditation technique in the world and becomes stronger than Batman himself.
Then since it has noone to teach it morals growing up and it's parents aren't killed in a dramatic mugging it has no base for empathy so it becomes the most diabolical villain in the world kicks Lex Luthor's stupid face in and then uses Batman's files on all the members of the JLA to defeat them all and take over the world while Bruce sits in the Batcave waiting for the Batcomputer to finish the paternity test.
He then finds out he is the father of the most powerful villain in the history of the world, does an epic facepalm, grabs his utility belt, and goes out to save the rest of the JLA and defeat Batbaby.
"What does the scouter say about his power level?"
"Over 9000!!!"
Now if the scouter read Superman's Power level it would read "Your Screwed" and explode. Superman is the man of steel.
But like every else mention, its "The God Damn Batman." No one effs with Bats!
This is a a quote from a very early DBZ episode. During the frieza saga there are about 5 people who break 1million. Frieza and goku both go wayyy over 1million. And seeing as Goku is exponentially stronger by the end of dbz not to mention gt. Somewhere in the billions or trillions by my estimate, but noone uses a scouter anymore they just 'sense' someone's power level say it's "the biggest most badassest person ever. crap themself, train for a little bit and then rely on Goku to save the universe... I would say superman is also somewhere in the same ballpark as far as power levels go.
And speaking of reading "your screwed" and exploding. That actually sort of happens to one of the Ginyu force during the frieza saga... He's trying to get a read on Goku while Goku powers up to full strength and the scouter is just buzzing higher and higher and then explodes. It's Jace or chase or whatever his name is. The red guy with long white hair.

This statement makes so much sense. So the real question is whom is dum enough to fight Superman And Goku at the same time? Lets just say for time periods, KC Superman and Goku that can reach Super Saiyan 4.

Captain Planet, obviously.

Wizard Magazine already addressed this years ago. Superman would only have a chance against a pre-Super Saiyan Goku. Otherwise, Goku's superior strength, speed, and energy manipulation abilities would trump anything Superman could manage. In addition, Goku's energy attacks are based on spiritual energy (chi/ki) which could have the same affect on Superman as magic (bypassing his invulnerability).
