Trait - Let Us Be Rid of It Once and For All!: All damage dealt to Frodo and Sam is reduced by the number of action tokens on them. Speed - I Can't Carry It For You, But I Can Carry You!: Frodo and Sam can use Leap/Climb, Stealth, and the Carry ability.
I don't know. I actually like this figure. Sure Flurry seems to be more than just a little bit of a waste here but the combination of powers can make them rather annoying for opposing figures. Also don't under estimate that back loaded willpower with PC and their trait. I actually really like these guys and would not be upset if I opened them.

I'm more convinced this is an LE, but even that's hardly any good, 'cause who's gonna wanna go to battle for these two?
Although they do get slightly [slightly] neater when combined with the Ringbearer's "everyone gets willpower" trait... but then you have two Frodos! No winning, man.
Although this is the second dial in as many releases to be a Duo with Flurry. Either this shows some sort of misunderstanding on the designers' part... of it suggests perhaps Duo is getting tweaked? Unlikely.. but I remain hopeful. If suddenly you can use Duo WITH Flurry, they ain't quite so bad anymore.
This will play well within the LotR set, most likely, but will get owned in mixed play.
you mean in mixed play where you 215pts to build around them?? i don't think so! just like any figure they have drawbacks. if they had higher damage people would be crying all over the place.
these guys are finesse if i ever seen one. stealth protects from outwitting, leap/climb means they can jump from hindering to hindering. exploit means you can't ignore them. these guys will actually do very well if play right, and build around properly. base them against the right figure and they can really shine.
i will say that they seem a little pricey. that is, until you think about what they COULD do with the right team behind them. i try my hardest to look at the good points. i also love beating folks with characters they think suck or are horrible. i guess these guys just joined the club!
in all honesty i'd let them carry someone like legolas or even balder the brave into battle. fill points with some support and you have a pretty great team!

Not a fan of the dial - that said, if the sculpt looks even half as good as the digital, it'll be a figure I'll want to have. I love how Frodo and Sam are facing opposite ends like that.
While I know plenty dislike peanut duos for the effect on gameplay, I think my reason is that the single-based duos always seem to have some of the most interesting sculpts in the game (see: Power Man and Iron Fist, Thorki, Batman and Robin, even Hawkman and Atom).

how about when they get flurry or duo outwitted?? then you'll have the other to lean on. perplex their damage up then they are a great threat. they actually have a pretty push-able dial too. considering the fact that they reduce dmg by the number of tokens. i'd love if they changed duo to work like flurry myself. always thought it funny that powerman couldn't hit as hard as iron fist, or vice versa!!

Giving a Duo piece with 0 range and 1 damage flurry is like giving a piece energy explosion and battle fury.
Design fail.
This piece needs to have it's flurry removed and be 10 points cheaper or have it's duo removed and be even cheaper still.
I have to say I very much like that trait though, cool idea. It encourages opponents to not attack them until they clear, giving them time to poison stuff. The poison that isn't justified in the slightest... oh well.

I can expect them to be 70 points and not have overlapping redundant abilities so their average combat values don't hinder them as much compared to their cost.
