Absolutely terrible for a Nazgul. That dial is horribly underpowered.
There's nothing in the movies to indicate they're ungodly powerful.
Again, they were frightened off/taken out by a torch to the face.
Yes, they were relentless and seriously wounded Frodo. But otherwise, they didn't really do a whole lot in actual combat with anyone. Seems pretty accurate.

In the hex based game they were given an effect to simulate that they were terrifying, if not actually great fighters. I'd like to see something similar on them i.e.
Terrifying: Adjacent characters may not push.
of course we likely haven't seen the last nazgul, so even if another one comes out with a similar power or similarly effective power I'll be happy. Right now I'm a little underwhelmed by these guys plus the witchking, but time may well prove me wrong.
Iron River Read my wife's comic or I will say mean things about your dog.
I suckered these guys into playing: Feedback Damage
Hopefully so Nitecrawler. If it's just 5 variants on the same dial, it would be weird. Not that I'd really complain though... since the set is already so small.

I disagree. In the books and movies they weren't incredibly powerful but definitely had powers that aren't represented in the dial. For example, they are terrifying. A special power could have accounted for it. An ability that requires a player to roll a die and the result is X or less, the figure cannot be moved a square adjacent to the Nazgul.
The Nazgul have magical blades that can cause wounds that require special means to heal (and do not necessarily heal completely). Frodo was stabbed by the chief of the Nazgul and would have died or transformed into a Nazgul himself if not for the intervention of his comrades and the help of Elrond in Rivendell. So poison or a poison-like ability would have been appropriate on the dial.
You guys do realize that these articles are written for the wider public, and not the established player base, right?
I do. It doesn't mean that I can't still be amused by it.

Yeah, that would be cool. Maybe even Shape Change (representing someone being too scared to attack them).
On the other thread about this guy someone mentioned that they'd have preferred seeing Exploit Weakness instead of Quake, and I have to agree. Quake doesn't feel right Slashing multiple opponents AND doing knockback? Neither one seems especially appropriate.
Some sort of Morgul Blade special power that makes a character take damage automatically once per turn if they've taken damage from a Ringwraith's attack would be powerful, but very cool and accurate.
On a related note, I'm still kinda bummed that the Witchking figure doesn't do feedback damage.
The Quake/Knockback effect kinda works with the Black Breath/Fear effect.
According to the books, only the Witch-King had a Morgul blade. And he was the one who stabbed Frodo. The other Ringwraiths just had normal broadswords. So that's probably why they don't have that effect on the regular Ringwraiths.
Agreed about the Feedback damage when the Witch-King is destroyed though.

I would have thought they'd have charge.
Even atop a winged beast, I'd think they often charged in and attacked.
Also, if they are in fact on wings then why do they have stealth? Hell everyone heard when one of those things showed up.
"Be careful Frodo, I hear a screeching Nazgul approaching!"
"Where Sam, where did it go!?"
"####, I think it's hiding behind that bush over there...carrying five other winged beasts as well."
"If only we could see it!"
The wraiths really weren't overwhelmingly powerful in the movie. They were terrifying for a number of reasons, but remember that Aragorn and the hobbits were able to fight them off and only Frodo was injured. I'm sure that the other Nazgul will have a variety of powers, as well, including Exploit Weakness. Think of this one as the specialized taxi of the group, and expect different roles from the others.
My only complaint is that he seems to be overcosted - that dial doesn't really deliver 100pts of usefulness in my mind. I think they have assigned a higher cost to the carry ability then may actually be justified, but I guess well see.
I have no trouble with that dial for the Nazgul in the Fellowship movie. Would five of that dial scare the bajeezuz out of Bree? Would a group of 4 hobbits run for their lives against just one? Totally!
It's not like the nine charged Minas Tirith on their own. They brought along a 35,000 point army.
The Black Riders would not and could not have opposed the Fellowship in a direct fight. Although all of us will play this game out, I would assume.
