The four orange squares in the corners of the map are "Transmatter Gates" (or, in this story, "Time/Space Anomalies"). Any character that ends their movement on an orange square can be relocated to any other unoccupied orange square of that player's choice.
This is from memory, so correct me if I'm wrong on that. I find they rarely get used anyway.

SpaceJawa, your map placement has Adam Warlock in W11?... a minor point for the time being, perhaps...
I guess I'd originally done it since I assumed Wakandaman and I would start in the same starting zone and Warlock could then carry out one of the defenders...
This isn't a free-for-all, is it? It's the Guardians AND the Defenders against the Avengers, right? Wouldn't you have to set up in the same starting area in this case?...
I'm afaraid i have to disagree with this ruling because opposing figures could start as few as 5 squares apart... what are the official rules regarding starting-area immunity?...
If they pass (is this a tournament? Is there some highly-sought after LE on the line? I highly expect they'll just play) then they've given up the opportunity to position on the map first. So if you feel threatened you can reposition your team as far away from opposing characters as you want. If both your opponents pass that also leaves Uatu fairly vulnerable, if you want to focus your first strike on him. Between Thor and Iron man you could potentially KO him in one round, which would set Mephisto chasing your gem-holding enemies down.
Or you could probably grab the Time Gem and close the gem-gap. Or use the Soul Gem and Starfox to heal up some of your wounded characters. There are lots of options here, and I think having half of your opponents close to you is as much an advantage as a disadvantage. By splitting Wakanda and SpaceJawa up you can bring your entire force down on one of them while their partner needs to cross the map in order to help their ally.

I have the map and the figures set up; here's the text for the "TRANSMATTER GATES: Squares inside the boundaries of an orange line are transmatter gates, hacked to echo local gates rather than distant planets! When any character occupies a transmatter gate at the end of a move or power action, it may be moved to any other unoccupied transmatter gate on the map."
Also, Gargan is right --> the 4x4 section in the middle is not orange, but rather green (hindering).
I have a question: the blocking terrain (columns, apparently) block LoFire no matter the elevation, right? This is an indoor map. (What if it were an outdoor map?... you'd think i'd be certain of this by now... )
You are correct, Blocking Terrain blocks LoFire no matter the elevation (and no matter whether it is indoor or outdoor). The only thing I am not sure about is where the new multi-level maps are concerned, but luckily this is not one of those maps.
Edit: After checking the rules, an elevated character shooting at another elevated character CAN draw LoF over grounded blocking terrain.
