We bought it for our oldest daughter, she really enjoys it. I personally enjoy playing along side her, as a stand alone game for one person: It has it's charms and I think it's worth buying.
Hmm...wish I'd seen this thread instead of attempting to start a new thread with the same question, a few months back. Ended up buying the Giants set and some compatible figures - no way I could pass on Swarm and I'd like to get Eye Brawl - but have yet to play it. Hoping for some time in the upcoming month.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

More fun than I've had with any of the recent Mario games though. So that's something.
I got it at christmas time. Giants for the ps3 and spyros adventures for the 3ds. Collecting the figures is as addictive to me as heroclix honestly, but I'm somewhat of a completionist. Anyways, the 3ds ones are more like the old spyro crash bandicoot ps1 games. The platformer nostalgia is just really fun in my opinion. The ps3 giants is cool too. Its styled a bit differently, almost like a dungeon delving game.
Also to anyone needing whamshell of the dead 8, get one of the skylanders giants castle display cases (they look like a square box with castle and drawbridge detail all over it) from toysrus. They have em usually there, and exclusive there it has whamshell included inside.
Need to find boomer and ghost roaster now... The last I need of the dead 8.
Back in my day, superheroes werent supposed to have powers that were realistically explained. Then it wouldnt be SUPER!
I know. I'm willing to get em used at this point. The 3ds game settings u can clear stats and make the figures fresh.
Also its hard finding them or asking about doubles(apparently for a while boomer was so numerous nobody wanted him.) Especially since I only know like one other person close to me who plays, and he plays with his kids. So its hard to find the rares.

The answer is YES. The game is very fun to play, the dialog is great and humorous. The Villian is voiced by Invader Zim and has the same wacky humor, and the Pilot is Patric Warburton, aka Joe from Family guy, so again, funny stuff. I personally am looking forward to the third installment so i can get more of that clever humor and game play.
Dont let the haters turn you off, its worth giving a shot.

Don't limit yourself to the 3DS. Any of the games can reset a Skylander and make them 'fresh'. Though, if you have the 'Secret Dragon Treasure' pack and the original Skylanders game, you can take an original (green base) Skylander and just keep refreshing the Chest at the Core of Light and go on to Skylanders Giants with enough gold to choke the shops and upgrades.
