I think the number of punishers and daredevils we are getting all in one set it excessive and lame. Clearly it is a cost cutting measure (pallet swap, alternate arms/head, rinse, repeat). I support having many versions of popular characters as it is good for team building (how many teams is Wolverine on? like 8?) and for players just coming into the game. As things stand I am giving away old Oots Batmens (because BatB Batman sucks) and McSpideys (I love happy meals!).
I liked the CAP set, but it really suffered for having so many obscure characters. How many stonewalls do I really want? One. How many do I have? Five. More obscure characters that don't bring interesting powers/stats to the game are not that exciting to me.
As a Captain America fan, and having seen the infancy of Heroclix to the present, I have a few words on this topic that I would like to share.
First, the bulk of my reply may seem more suited to a post about Cap himself, but bear with me. My statements lead up to the point in question.
Captain America was created to be the 'Ultimate Super Soldier'. To that end, he was made into the epitome of a human fighting machine.
[In that regard, and even given the infancy of the game at the time, there is not one instance where Captain America - the Steve Rogers version's anyway - should EVER have an attack rating lower than a '9', period - and that's at the END of his dial, not the start. The earliest Rookie Cap's having an abysmal starting attack of only an '8', and the vets having only a '10' - dropping to a '4' of all things, were an insult to the epitome of martial skill. The game was different then, but my statement stands.
Since the 'modern era' has dawned, the oops in this regard have been less, but still there. In ANY comic with Cap in it, unless he is on the verge of being knocked out, he has phenomenal martial prowess, taking down guys so vastly stronger than he is, as to be near impossible.]
Now, with all that said, any guy who has been taught by the 'master of martial skill' should have a decent attack himself. However, I am not sure how much is actually transfered in that training 'translation'.
I guess my point here is really a question, more than a statement of any kind: Do you think that a guy, trained by the end-all individual of fighting ability, should have something similar to that persons level of skill? Say, maybe -1 or -2 to the overall ratings, perhaps, but never less than that?
Granted, in a specific case like Demolition Man, where the guy/girl has a specific drawback, like D-Man's weakened heart, there has to be some consideration of this fact; but, otherwise, would you feel that their ability should mirror the masters' besides? I am at a quandary in this regard. What do the rest of you think?

I used to teach martial arts and this is my opinion... training technique will improve anyone, but someone's inherent ability/potential still determines how good they can be. Its just like in football, some wide outs are better than others, for example. Just because Jerry Rice is a Hall of Famer, does not mean he can put you on his level... sure he can help your game with his tricks to the trade, but the rest is determined by your own potential.

We have Anti-Venom: Eddie Brock, formerly the villain Venom Goliath: Goliath looks a lot like Bill Foster, who went under the names Black Goliath, Giant Man and Goliath in the past. Atlas: A former Thunderbolt and former villain, and sported both the names Power Man and Goliath in the past.
We still need; D-Man: Short for Demolition Man, is Dennis Dunphy, a former super-powered wrestler who became Captain America’s partner back in the 1980s. Devil-Slayer: Eric Simon Payne, former Defender Captain Ultra: A comedian/superhero? Century: Former member of Force Works Ethan Edwards: Skrull with psudo Superman’s origin
Flight = Flight
Super Strength = Super Strength
Endurance = Indomitable
Durability = Imp/Inv/Toughness
Reflex = Combat Reflexes
Intangible = Phasing
X-Ray = Special like Superman/Ultimates TA (Or, just give him the Ultimates TA)
Concussive Breath = Force Blast
Ultra-Feats = Special where 11 or 12 = Critical hit, or all doubles are critical hits (not sure how frequent this happened)
We also are in need of a remake of their leader with his powers upped to their proper level.
YES WE DID SAVE HEROCLIX !
Now thank us by taking care of the people that take care of you.
I'm hoping that the previous era of Daredevil gets a few character slots over the next few sets. D-Man had a slight appearance in that run, but we are also missing the Enforcers, Lady Bullseye, Gladiator, et al.
Did he ever fix his fear of (vulnerability to) fire? I always thought he was just silly fun from his first "audition" for the Frightful Four! He seemed like a Martian Manhunter knock-off with his power set and fire weakness, all packaged in a looney-toon costume! Great stuff!
