Sinestro left Korugar intending to seek out this place called Xandar as Darkseid had suggested. He would use fear to bring the world to heel and in obeisance to him but his ring soon alerted him to the presence of other life in the universe and he decided to investigate it because he found it odd that he hadn't detected it before when he had travelled to Korugar.

Invesigating the first world he came to, he discovered a reptillian race with large batlike ears that subjugated another race.

Sinestro sought the leader of the world to question him.

After a short one sided battle that taught him that the reptilian race were shapechangers, he learned that the race called themselves Skrulls and had subjugated a significant portion of the galaxy and that their most hated enemies were a race called the Kree. The shapechanging was no defense against him; however, because the ring could still identify them.

Sinestro had never heard of either race and initially accused them of lying. His ring told him they weren't however and Sinestro paused to reflect on this anomaly.

After some further coercive questioning, Sinestro learned of a throneworld of the Skrulls and decided he would pay it a visit.

Giving the Skrull chancellor a further demonstration of his power, he forced the Skrull to swear fealty to Sinestro and warned him that when he was through, either the entire Skrull empire would be his, or it would cease to exist.

Sabretooth leered at Wolverine while Logan sat in contained anger at being hijacked by Magneto and carried off to his island.

Magneto was cajoling Wolverine to side with him in the fight against the dominance of the human race, making forceful arguments to sway Wolverine to his mindset.

Avalanche, Toad and Whirlwind stood off to the side listening. To Whirlwind, it all sounded pretty good. Why hadn't he hooked up with Magneto before?

Avalanche nodded in abject agreement. He wouldn't have any problem following Magneto in his quest.

The Toad had a long history with Magneto. He'd heard it all before, but there were wounds from past associations with Magneto and he had some resentment. Still he had changed a lot since he used to associate with Magneto. He was more of a man now and not the quaking sycophant he'd been when Magneto knew him. He still feared Magneto though, as any sane man would. He feared Sabretooth and Wolverine as well. Especially Sabretooth. How could you not fear a psychopath? Sabretooth had a demon in him, Toad was certain.

Whirlwind and Avalanche were unknowns to him, other then that he knew Whirlwind had fought the Avengers a lot and that Avalanche had been a part of a different Brotherhood of Mutants.

The press had always called them the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He'd always called the press the evil media. It was his little joke.

He tired of listening to Magneto harangue Wolverine and stepped outside for some air.

Wanda used the facility's transporter to retrieve Wolfsbane and Nightcrawler from the X-Men mansion for the conference.

The halfling asked Wanda about helping him with his quest to rescue his team mates. Wanda decided to bring the halfling and the gnome to the conference to add their input.

T.O. Morrow arrived at the Sentinel plant with his group. His task was to get the plant back up and running and reprogram the Sentinels to do Darkseid's bidding.

He studied the remains of the previous Sentinels. Those creatures had devastated them. Very little of the Sentinels were left to examine.

He walked over to the section that had apparently been used to create new Sentinels. To his delight, there was a nearly intact Sentinel that was waiting to be brought online so that it could function.

All Morrow would have to do was restore the damaged sections of the factory, bring it back online and finish this Sentinel, then he would study the schematics, reprogram the Sentinels directives and begin making more.

Morrow began working.

Hawkman was especially disconcerted. He'd been enslaved by that Githyanki wizard warrior practically since he'd arrived and he was still trying to make sense of it all.

He was Carter Hall. He knew of this version of Batman, Aquaman and the Flash because they had teamed on several occasions with the JSA in the past. He wasn't familiar with the Swamp Thing though and these other heroes called Hawk and Dove. Evidently they were from the other heroes reality. He was from the Earth the other heroes called Earth 2 and they didn't have a` SSwamp Thing or a Hawk and Dove and his Huntress was the daughter of Catwoman and his Batman who'd retired from crime fighting as a superhero when age caught up with him.

He chafed at this summit to meet and get acquainted with these other strange heroes.He heard there was a version of Midway City out there and he needed to investigate it.

He met Aquaman, who had stayed in a special Aquarium that the facility had for the night. His own Aquaman seemed to have disappeared after WWII. Hawkman had only met him once.

It was a little disconcerting being around someone who's element was water while his was air.

The Flash soon joined them and Hawkman found himself wishing it was Jay Garrick because he was feeling a little isolated.

Iceman struggled against the telekinetic vice grip the Leader had on him and in desperation shot a hail of ice aimed at the Leader's eyes. The Leader's concentration was broken and he let go of Bobby, who had been suspended nearly twenty feet above ground.

Bobby swiftly caught his fall with an ice slide and coasted to the ground unhurt.

As the Leader rubbed his stung eyes and tried to regroup. Bobby pressed his attack by encasing the leader in freezing cold ice that the Leader had to work hard to break free from.

Bobby felt like he had the upper hand but a piercing scream from the besieged city gave a sense of urgency and Bobby turned and rushed away in order to aid the stricken female that had originated it, leaving the Leader to fend for himself.

The Leader cared little for what was transpiring in the unknown city and since he had no more desire for combat as he shivered from being encased in ice he slunk off away from the city to seek refuge where he could find it.

Spiderman's head was reeling. He'd learned that Mary Jane and Jameson had somehow been returned to his own world and along with the appearance of an alternate reality Gwen Stacy and Robbie Robertson; he also had to contend with the fact that the Black Cat was in some place called Midway City and his own beloved Aunt May had been rejuvenated and was busy fending off aproaches from the myriad Shield aqgents that had taken over the facility in the mountain that at one time was his alone.

Apparently, the Hobgoblin was here along with a small fry punk he'd fought a few times called Boomerang.

This was a lot to deal with and the webslinger thought it was ironic that he could be so far from home but still be beset with a lot of problems.

The summit began with Nick Fury presiding. to his right sat the heroes of the other universe. Batman, the Huntress, the Flash, Aquaman, Hawkman, Swamp Thing and finally Hawk and Dove.

To his left sat the Avengers, Captain America, Hank Pym in his Goliath uniform, the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, the Vision and Hercules. Beside Hercules sat Spiderman. On the far side of the table sat Nightcrawler, Wolfsbane, Yellowjacket and the Gnome, Grimble Grumble and the Halfling, Blick Onstaff. Spiderman dangled above the table from a web.

The meeting began with key speakers relating past events since their arrival. Spiderman and Batman each took the podium as they seemed to have arrived the earliest for their respective realities.

Afterward each person was asked to relate their own experiences. Dove was allowed to speak for both herself and Hawk as they were the lone exception as to when they arrived. They had arrived together.

As the briefings continued, Hawkman grew quite restless. and then became agitated when it was reported that the two heroines that couldn't be retrieved for the summit had reported that Midway City had been infested with vampires
A Shield agent that had returned with Fury; Laura Brown, who looked better rested, testified that she had reason to believe that a Skrull had infiltrated Midway City as well.

Hawkman was perplexed by the mention of Skrulls but didn't like the sound of them. He was dying to get on his way to clean up his city.

Batman chafed as well. This summit was designed as a get acquainted ceremony and he had no interest in that. He'd learn about these other heroes his way, later and deal with them if they were a threat.

He didn't trust them and didn't want to have to rely on them. He'd even gotten them to agree to a minimal Shield presence in Gotham City. He even negotiated a limited Shield presence when they moved into Metropolis which he suspected as harboring Bane who had betrayed his trust when he had healed him and given him free reign of the city.

Someone had oddly referred to the others as Marvels and it seemed to have stuck so everyone had begun referring to them as being from the "Marvel" universe. it was all very irksome. Why wasn't Superman or Nightwing here or Tim?

And what happened to Alfred? Batman was feeling stressed out and then the one wearing the flag announced that it seemed that two civilians had been returned to the original "Marvel" universe. Is that how things turned out for Alfred?

Batman's ears perked up when he learned that two civilians from the "Marvel" universe had disappeared and then turned up on their original reality with tales of what had happened to them. Could that have happened to Alfred?

He wondered if more heroes and villains from his reality had turned up that they hadn't found out about yet. His group certainly seemed to be outnumbered by the "Marvels".

The one called Captain America was wondering why New York City hadn't been duplicated while all these city's from the other reality had been. Hank Pym suggested that it was because the cities were unique to the other heroe's universe.

Captain America brought up the mysterious t shaped island tower in the East River which brought Batman, Aquaman and Flash to full attention as well as Hawk and Dove. They all insisted on investigating this immediately after the summit was finished.

The Flash began referring to the heroes and villains from his reality as the "DC's" and for some reason it felt right somehow.

Blick Onstaff made a plea that the heroes attempt to rescue his teamates from the Githyanki and the heroes promised they would try to make time if they could find a way to enter the ethereal plane to attempt a rescue. The gnome Grimble Grumble promised to find a way.

Nick Fury wanted to address the issue of the Shield presence in the DC cities. The Flash welcomed them in Central City and said that they were just what was needed for the protection of Happy Harbor. Hawkman accepted them readily for Midway City and elaborated that he was anxious to get their to see to it's well being immediately after this meeting broke up.

Batman announced that he would prefer that he and his fellow DC's deal with Gotham City and Metropolis along with the Checkmate Agents. They would call on the Marvel's if they needed them. The Flash was uncomfortable with this but said nothing.

Hank Pym espoused his theory that this was an alternate reality that was the personal playground to a Beyonder like entity, possibly even the Beyonder himself.

Cap thought it wasn't the Beyonder because the Beyonder would have been likely to have come forward by now. He thought it might be two powerful entities from each reality playing some kind of intricate game.

The DCs hadn't considered this but it made sense. It had to be someone extremely powerful to be able someone like Darkseid a pawn in an intricate game.

They were still not even close to learning who the entity or entities might be.

Iceman moved as quickly as he could into the city. He was confronted by a medieval looking force that were using a combination of modern barriers and anachronistic looking devices to prevent egress into the city.

Upon looking at Iceman's Iced up battle look, the guards that were a combination of humans and nonhuman creatures that looked suspiciously to Bobby like creatures from a Dungeons and Dragons game began hurling assorted missiles at him such as spears and arrows which he easily deflected. Then some creatures that Bobby thought might possibly be orcs picked up some M-16s and began fumbling with them trying to make them work.

Bobby decided he would have none of that and iced up their hands before they could finally figure them out. He wondered how they might have gotten their hands on such sophisticated weapons.

As he forced his way past the barricade, he began to understand a little of what might have happened. He began seeing evidence of dead policeman and army troops that had evidently been defeated and overun by the odd occupying force.

He didn't get far into the city before he realised that it would take more then just him to liberate this city from these oppressors.

Having played his share of AD&D in his time he began to overcome his incredulity as he saw many different types of demihumans wandering the city streets, ogres, trolls, orcs, hill giants, gnolls, stone giants and Drow elves seemed to be everywhere he looked along with some humans that were dressed in various types of armor.
Bobby thought he'd entered the Twilight Zone.

The people of the city desperately needed help, but he didn't think even he wouldd be enough to overcome this force. all he would be able to do was harry them and be a thorn in their side while he tried to avoid any possible magic that be directed at him.

The only help he could possibly think of would be the Leader and Bobby was sure that that would only make things worse.

he retreated back out of the city to consider his next move.

After the confrontation with the X-Man known as Iceman didn't go as well as he would have liked, the Leader decided to try to find a way to one of his hidden labs. Just as soon as he figured out where he was. Capital City? Where the hell was Capital City supposed to be?

Suddenly he was confronted with a peculiar green apparition along with some horrid looking manspider.

"Greetings, Samuel Sterns! You don't know who I am but I --- I am known as Nightmare, and this is my servant Arcane. You're probably wondering what is the reason for all this odd activity that has befallen you of late. To tell you the truth, I'm not completely sure myself --- but I have a theory, that we have been brought here to engage in a tremendous battle btween the forces of good and evil."

"Now don't give me that look Mr. Sterns! Certainly you aren't going to suggest to me that you are anything but a representative of anything other then evil? I didn't think so. We have mutual interests Mr. Sterns. You have a deep abiding hatred for the Incredible Hulk while I --- have had many many problems with the Hulk's close associate Dr. Strange."

Nightmare paused for effect. "Yes, I see that you understand. I request that you join me to lend the force of your brilliant mind to our cause. Certainly you can see that one such as you would be of tremendous asset to advancing our cause."

Nightmare waited for the Leader to consider this and then continued. "One such as yourself, is apply named the Leader but I would prevail upon you to accompany me to meet someone else important to our cause. Please join me if you would."

The Leader considered for a minute and then acquiesced and Nightmare took him off to Apokolips to meet Darkseid.

Day 6: Mid morning, near the city limits of Capital City.

Tabitha Smith; also known as Boom Boom, had just been briefed by Cyclops and the other X-Men that Bobby Drake, Iceman had been transported via a warp in space/time right out of the danger room under the very eyes of Angel and the Beast. No one was allowed to use the Danger Room until further notice.

This didn't upset her much, she wasn't really a fan of the danger room. She wondered what was going on? It seemed like some sort of superhero kidnapping. She had a theory. There was an old villain of the Avenger's called the Collector. she thought it might be the Collector, collecting superheroes again. She was walking to her room when Sunspot said something to her. She turned to say something back while continuing to walk and the next thing she knew, she was suddenly somewhere else.

Startled, she quickly realised that she had been nabbed in the same way Iceman and probably the other X-Men had been nabbed.

She looked around and saw a towering figure facing her from a short distance. He was dressed in red ninja garb and Tabitha knew immediately that she was facing one of the Hand, deadly ninjas who always seemed to be a thorn in Wolverine's side. Judging by his size, this wasn't just any member of the Hand either. This just might be Kirigi!

Kirigi indignantly looked down at the tiny adolescent in the X-Men garb that faced him. She was just a scrap of a girl but he knew that she shouldn't be taken for granted. The X-Men outfit told him that.

She wasn't even a full X-Man, if her uniform was any indication. She was like X-Men light or something.

Disdainfully, he studied his surroundings. To his surprise it was unfamiliar territory. How could this be? He; Kirigi had been everywhere in his long life, he'd seen everything but he'd never, ever heard of a Capital City. Was this some kind of trick?

In an act born of frustration, he feinted to trick the girl who tried to defend herself poorly and then deftly put her to sleep using an agent ninja maneuver.

He slung her over her shoulder and then pondered his next step.

Suddenly, he observed another X-Man approaching from the city. This one had the ice powers and might be more difficult to deal with. Kirigi had no use for the girl and no need for a confrontation with the ice mutant so he hurled the prostate girl as a diversion and while Iceman's eyes were focused on her, he deftly disappeared into the landscape.

By the time Iceman had reached the girl, Kirigi was nowhere to be seen.

The Hydra and Aim agents found themselves in a bit of a pickle. though they claimed the Azores aechipelago as their headquarters they found that the islands were riddled with a chain of volcanos and on this Earth they were all active.

To make matters worse the volcanos turned out to be the home of a large clan of Fire Giants who took exception to the Hydra and Aim Agents.

Not only did Fire giants live there, but also Salamanders, Efreeti and at least three Red Dragons.

The Hydra and Aim agents were preoccupied with trying to keep their home.
