the sculpt is kinda meh... will have to wait till i see one in person to be sure. also hope this one isn't deformed like the one holding the hot dog stand B^P
Ugh really why are we getting him in this set. I hope they don't waste too many spots on FF stuff in the set. I was ok with Doom and a Doom bot. Now it looks like we will get Thing and Mr. Fantastic. Any more than that and I will be upset.
Please keep in mind:
The Fantastic Four are Marvel's First Family, and it was in their series that the Watcher, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Skrulls, Kree, Inhumans, Him (who became Adam Warlock) and various other cosmic characters first appeared.
The last time we had the four was in/attached to Secret Invasion. Yes, they worked versions of Sue and Johnny into Captain America's set, but while Sue's is an interesting, workable version Johnny's really isn't.
Sometime this summer, Secret Invasion will be retired from Modern Age.
Yeah, it looks as if it was done on a scale similar to the Common Hulk from this week's set, unfortunately.

See an optometrist..?
The image is small, so maybe the detail's not coming through for you. It's a good pose, as Ben has one fist pressed into his other, cupped hand, his head tilted a little down as he looks on with quietly threatening intent, a firm line at the mouth with just a hint of a smile to let whoever he's looking at know that he's going to enjoy clobbering him.
Not everything has to be via the '90s Image school of exaggerated posing.
This this mean we still aren't getting the team in the new FF uniforms?
Difficult to say. I'm sure the temptation has to be there since it could be as easy as an alternate paint job, but would they really use up that many spots to give us both?
Providing they're not in the upper rarity levels it could be a good reason to want two of each, though, as the costume fix should be one of the easier paint mods to pull off.
Me, I'd prefer to have them in classic blue, and then mod out from there.
People are joking about the 5 uses of the sculpt, right? It was just chosen because the piece will be in the set and "Thing" rhymes with "ring."
Yeah, pretty much.
After the Hulk set though, I really wouldn't put it past them. :P
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

Agreed. It looks like a GREAT, classic Thing pose. I really hope he's not tiny like the Common Hulk though. That would be very disappointing.

Right. As this is just a digital sculpt pic we can't say for sure, but looking at the shot with respect to the base... if that's all to scale then we're looking at a Thing who's going to be looking up to characters he shouldn't have to.
I'm guessing that unless they've said somewhere that this is definitely from GG, I would guess it's from Mighty Avengers, as Thing was on at least one of the recent Avengers titles. Either way I'm happy for some of your everlovin' blue eyed pal.

It has the GG logo right on the picture for it, so I'm guessing it's in GG.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but the FF deserve to be in this set. They're Marvel's premier cosmic team -- they explore, challenge and defeat the incomprehensible routinely.
Also, if you look at it from a more positive angle, spots aren't wasted. These are the characters that Marvel is okaying. These are characters who are currently relevant. I'd be amazed if we didn't get 2 of each of the 4 -- regular costumes and Future Foundation costumes. Or perhaps you'd prefer the white costumed characters to take up all of the slots in the prize support...?
Earth 2 counterpart of Lethargy_Jones Now with 50% more irony.
Currently hoping for: a very playable Crime Syndicate.
Ya know, this may be a teaser for the new 2012 Heroclix starter of the new "Fantastic 5" coming out on the heels of Galactic Guardians. Isn't that based around the recent F4 story where the Thing accidentally clones himself when looking for the toaster in Reed's lab, the clone causes an accident in the lab resulting in Reed temporarily absorbing the powers and looks of the Thing, Johnny just happens to show up in a Thing halloween costume to put on a prank, and a Skrull has infiltrated the Baxter Building as Thing all on the same morning? Then, the real Thing starts a beat-down on all of 'em over the last piece of pizza in the fridge, right? Chaos ensues. Eventually, Johnny grabs the Neutralizer and thinks he is blasting the clone Thing but blasts the real Thing instead and accidentally starts the new DC 52. The 6th starter clix not shown is probably another "puck" style dial invisible woman.
I'm pretty sure that's what this preview is for.
Truth. Justice. Honor.
If we want them in our world we need to cultivate them in ourselves.
