I could be way off base, but I thought colossals ignored elevated terrain for movement purposes....Well, actually they do...
Great Size
This character can't be knocked back. When this character makes a close combat attack, it may target characters on higher elevations. This character ignores the effects of hindering terrain, elevated, and outdoor blocking terrain on movement and can move through squares adjacent to and occupied by smaller opposing characters.
So does that not mean they can hang off of an elevation? I was under the impression that colossals flattened elevated terrain for the duration of their stay on said elevated terrain....again, could be way off.....
That's only for movement purposes. Per the 2011 rulebook:
Quote
MOVING MULTI-BASE CHARACTERS Multi-base characters must always end movement so
that all of its bases occupy legal, adjacent squares.
If any square a multi-base character occupies
is hindering terrain, the character is considered
to occupy hindering terrain when it begins to
move, no matter which square it starts from.
Different elevations are not adjacent therefore according to the bolded, a multibase cannot hang off the edge.

I would almost choose this map just to have the dumbest game in my personal heroclix history, neither character being capable of getting in range of the other to attack.
I'm not sure if that's what CountingGardens was asking, but I am.
Didn't know the "no upward limit" bit.
So, Superman hovering in the middle of the Jotenheim/Thor FF pack map. He's all the way up on level 4 eleveted, not on the rim, but not behind any blocking terrain... Imperiax is just outside his starting area on level 1 with a LOF clear to Supes besides the 3 levels of elevated terrain. Imperiax can draw LOF to Superman?
Dashes are squares and > being the square that elevation goes up (the rim)...
Impy (E1)>(E2)---->(E3)-->(E4)- Supes
If you have the map, Supes will be on square I,12. Imperiax will be on square I,22.
I thought if you weren't on the rim of elevated terrain, then you couldn't see down off of that elevated. Am I just not reading this example right, or is it being said that Supes doesn't have to be on the rim to look down to see Imperiex?

This is because Imperiex can pretend he is at level 4 when LOF is drawn to/from him.
that's why you gotta think twice about fielding those 3x6 Colossals now.
Because over half the time they will go to a map where they might literately be unable to make an attack the entire game.
I do hope they do something to fix that aspect of colossals. but who knows.

and if you field a theme team, you increase that chance to more than half. What can you do though? Maybe errata to make it more similar to Spectre where he is allowed to partially sit on elevated? or allow elevated terrain to be destroyed?

Yeah i agree its a slippery slope. It will easily flip flop to "there is no where to hide from colossals ever."
I guess you could errata certain maps could not be chosen if either team has a base larger than 2 x 2?
I dont think it would be a very long list, even death's realm is okay since i mean given enough time you can blow up walls and do something.

According to the latest PAC regarding the Great Size ability:
Quote
This character may draw lines of fire (and have lines of fire drawn to it) as if the character occupied the elevation equal to or greater than the elevation it occupies, using the elevation level with the least restrictive line of fire.
so, when targeting Imperiex, you can change his elevation to be equal to or greater than yours so that you don't have to be on the rim looking down, you are now looking straight or up if needed.

Well thankfully Galactus has Phasing Teleport on his first clixs and Ziran has the Flight Ability so they could both get to that middle plato. Now who would take the first leap to be shot at. But if one of them does get to the middle they would have range on each other.

Oh i didn't realize there was room in the middle for one of them anywhere, that's my bad. I only have a tiny pic of the map from google images to work with.
EDIT after reexamining the photo I have. Other than the 2 starting areas, I see only 1 place a 6 X 3 could land, there is a Blue roof directly in front of one of the starting areas(the right side of the linked photo) with enough room to land. But it is still 16 squares away from the next closest area that i can see, which is the opposite starting area. What does the area you are referring to look like? Here is the pic i am using.

I don't think he can land on that middle level 3 section because there's a square level 2 section in it.

I could have sworn when we looked at the map that one of the sections with hindering were wide enough. Oh well, guess Classic Galactus wins again with his 16 range.

He only needs 13 range... he can stand anywhere on that map. Like a boss.

Actually... Ziran wins.
Every time.
He pushes until he gets to click 4.
PLANETS BECOME WEAPONS: Give Ziran the Tester a power action. At the beginning of your next turn, deal 1 unavoidable damage to each opposing character if Ziran the Tester hasn't taken any damage since your last turn.
Multiattack with that, galactus starts taking 2 unavoidable damage 2 out of 3 turns.
