Well, not "forged" the hammer, just took it in for repairs.

That's the correct answer. While the hammer wasn't forged in Pittsburgh, he did take it there in issue #120 to fix it after his first run-in with the Destroyer (and did so in front of a neat 1960s Kirby photo background, too). I was kind of surprised it was as simple as that, as I thought he'd at least have to go hunt down some more uru or something to put the two pieces back together.

For all I know, he may also have forged his armor in Pittsburgh later on - being deficient in my Thor knowledge, I'm working my way through the Marvel Masterworks Thor TPBs, so if he did make the armor there, I haven't gotten that far yet.
