I hate getting modded just b/c someone doesn't get my sense of humor. Like the time I typed " I think Jeph Loeb should have been fired after his XXX died.

I'm guessing he has no idea what section of the forum he just posted in, and didn't read anything but the thread title.
Anyway, how about a neutral role with a post restriction, and rewards are given to those on calling out when he fails to meet said restriction. It would have to be a fairly obvious restriction, clearly.
I would have enjoyed Mal's haiku post restriction from Mini Marvels. Probably whether or not a post restriction is appropriate largely depends on the player, but it can sometimes be hard to know that ahead of time.
The problem is that I tend to be rather chatty, which is why it was a PITA with that post restriction.
Additionally, the fact that it pretty much outed me as the Hulk (and mafia) really didn't make me happy.
Personally, I think that instead of a mod-kill, a player should just lose their next night action if they violate their post restriction.

ask stan about my ClueMaster role from BoP.
ugh, i had to 'pantimine' my clues. Darq was create a figuring them out. the most annoying thing was that i found out after game my clues had a percentage of being false! that wasn't nice Stanley!
i have to admit i did kinda like the challenge of trying to post actions for the town to guess. Still can't believe the town lynched me at end after i've been doing these clues all game! that really p'od me, i had to take a break from mafia after that one.

I was once mod-killed for not following a post restriction that I wasn't even aware I had. Didn't appreciate that one.
And all of these months later, heaven forbid you should ever let it go, right, Mags?
You forgot to add: "But I didn't get auto-mod-killed for not keeping up with the post restriction. The mod tried contacting me via PM and letting me know about it and gave me 24 hours to update the post. I was too shagged from partying with friends, never got back online, never even bothered to check the mafia proboard where it was explicitely stated that results would be posted instead of individuals PM's to players, and hence I was mod killed towards the end of the 24 hours."
Mags, if you're gonna air grievances in public, months and months after it happened, give the other party a chance to respond to your one-sided telling of the story. Otherwise, realize that it's just a game and let... it... go.

I was the mafia Don. I was given the restriction, but not told about it. He posted it on the proboard at the bottom of the post instead of PMing me. I was on my phone and couldn't check the board. Posting in the game thread, and was mod-killed.
FYI: Important info (like a life or death restriction) ALWAYS needs to be PMed to the player and said explicitly.
I call BS on this post. And that's where I leave it.

I'm not going to get into this again with you. Too far in the past for me to fight back now, especially when everything's already been said and I'd just be repeating myself.
But I do stand by my point of view that post restrictions, especially mod-kill ones, need to be extremely clear from the word 'go'.
Post restrictions can be very fun and entertaiment on a game.
Is a call to atention to a player for a razon.
I like to use many times to make the Player feel what his character should feel, Kinda like when Marlon Brandon use cotton on his mouth for do his accent and that give him inspiration for even a better performance, in the same way I imagine the post restriction.
On Star Trek Captain Pike had an accident that leave him on a chair with a machine that could only say yes or no with lights and sound. That scream post restriction and make feel Pax a lot like the character felt.
Is also a bless for the player many times because it send a clearn clue of what character they are that only that people know about that character will know.
Fake post restriction can also be fun and everything is posible, I'm not limited to who could have post restrictions: Neutral, mafia, town is all the same for me. My goal is fun, participation and role play inside the game.
Post restriction should never discourage a player from posting. It should make them have wish to get back his "normal" post back, for that I don't like permanent post restrictions, only temporal ones. And also I try to not include lot of roles that silence players, that is not good for the participation even if it may be good for the Mafia. Mafia have fun defending themselves and 1 person more talking can bring lots of fun on a slow day phase.
