At this point you can get Dragon Age 2 for like $15 used. I almost got it, but I ignored it because of the venom I saw for it on here. I honestly don't really like Grand Theft Auto. I mean it's a good game, but I just remember not enjoying it much when I was younger and had it for PS1 or 2 because I would just run around smashing cars and shooting everyone I saw hahaha. I might give it a shot now again, that I will probably actually want to play it right.
I'm putting all these suggestions in a list and will keep my eye out for them cheap at stores. Much appreciated to get some of the old games in. Still looking for used copy of Left for Dead 2 again so I can play multiplayer with some people from here again, funny times.

Yeah, I just yesterday picked up a copy of the original Dragon Age for $15 and it seems pretty lame. Which is odd, I had heard generally good things about it.

Dragon Age is tremendous. You need to give it a chance. I can't play it because I hate Dwarves, and there was too much Dwarf in the game for me to deal with it.
Dragon Age II is okay. It's a good game, but it's uninspired and lazy.

Wait, what? You can't play games with dwarves? And how do you know it's good then?
But yeah, I'll give it a chance. The first two hours were just pretty boring so far, and the mechanics look really linear at first glance.
Now that I think about it, I don't think I can remember the last modern game that I played that has a good opening. Weird.

yeah the opening disk of FF XIII is what killed it too. It was so tedious and monotonous and it was so linear which I hate about FF now that I have played things like Oblivion and Skyrim that are much more open ended. Granted Oblivion and Skyrim are ACTION RPG and FF is not but still you get the idea.

Fantasy dwarves kill my interest in anything, ever, always.
I played DA:O until I reached the portion where you HAVE to deal with Dwarfy stuff, and never got past it.
The mechanics aren't as linear as they seem on the surface. Especially once you get your hands into the tactics and specializations. And, with it being a Bioware game, what happens to the story is very non-linear.

Give each game a bit of time to learn the in-and-outs (which aren't all obvious) and they will reward you with near-limitless replayability.
Goals for each:
Mr Do: Get EXTRA, get to level 9
Joust: Kill the Pterodactyl, get to level 15
Robotron: Get past level 15
Ms Pac-Man: See the fourth maze
Galaga: get perfect in the first couple of Challenge Rounds, get to level 15

It doesn't help that the Orzammar section is ridiculously long and tedious.
That and the PITA combat system mean I probably won't be playing it again, but it was a good game for the couple playthroughs I got out of it.
Now Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction? THAT'S a great game. Definitely the best Hulk game out there.
I feel very bad that I enjoy picking people up in that game and taking them to the top of the tallest building that I can find and then throwing them off the building. Great stress relief when you start assigning names/faces to said people, though.
As far as my own suggestions go, for older next gen console games, I can't recommend "Little Big Planet" for PS3 enough. I always have fun playing that game. It can be slightly frustrating playing in multiplayer if you have a less than well coordinated person playing with you (Like my Wife) but it is a fun game whether you play alone or with somebody else.

I felt Skyrim has a pretty badass opening. It was better then Oblivion for sure. "Oh man the king recognizes me, and he tells me in a way that I'm sure he's on acid. Now I get to fight a rat in a really dark area. Oh sweet I'm ready to face the world!"
Thawmus - What do you mean for DAII when saying it's uninspired and lazy?
Sega Saturn: Iron Storm, Dragon Force. XBOX: Mechassault 1 &2, Republic Commando. PS2: Front Mission 4, Ring of Red, Time Splitters 2, Black Hawk Down, Justice League Heroes, WH 40k Fire Warrior. 360: Fight Night Round 3, Toy Soldiers or X-men (xbox arcade). Wolverine.

It's pretty. And combat is fun. Which are two things Origins didn't have going for it.
It traded those things for a ridiculously closed environment. To the point where the same 4 maps just get recycled endlessly, only (and this is hilariously awful) different sections are walled off.
Imagine you went to a house, and someone had bricked up some of the doorways. You'd explore the different rooms still available to you, and leave. Come back the week later, and they bricked up completely different doorways, and told you that you were in a completely different house than you were last time.
That is what DA II did. With 4 houses. And I wish I could pretend the doorway bricking was part of the analogy, but it isn't. It really really isn't.
Also, the entire game falls down 2 paths the whole time, which is just irritating for me, since it is supposedly a Bioware game.

look for Sege Genesis classics for PS3. Has some good origininal Sega and Sega Genesis games. Alien Syndrome, Altered Beast, Shinobi all the Sonic games. Some great 80s/90s fun on a modern system.
