Correct, but what I'm saying is that you have no idea what powers you will or will not get (other than TK). With just the Soul Gem you know what your getting and it has a better benefit for this character than the gauntlet does. Look at his dial. He is built to be used with the Soul Gem and he NEEDS the healing from it to have a chance at wining.
And on 11 of the Gauntlet clicks he can use it. Not too worried about the randomness. More powers to use=more choices. Cost wise, IMHO the 15 for Gauntlet+gem is a better option than just the gem, Depending on the build for the game.

Can a team have a Soul Gem in it's object pool, and have In-Betweener with another Soul Gem on it's base?
No you cannot.
From the player's guide:

All special objects are treated as Unique for force construction
They are still part of your force so only one.

I would say yes, due to the one on Inbetweener doesn't count toward your object total. But I have been wrong allot lately lol.

See
Ok, So since the Soul Gem on Inbetweenher states that it doesn't count towards your object total, Means you can still play 3 objects.
So does that mean that If I play shield throwing Cap, I can only use 2 objects, Since his card has no clause that says it doesn't count? I know the answer is you can still use 3. I just don't see the point of it in Inbetweenher's description if that's the case.
Just playing devil's advocate here.
I understand all Special Objects(relics now) are unique, But if 1 doesn't count towards my object total, Then it shouldn't count. But then again. I want them to change objects anyways. I don't think any object you pay for should count towards your 3. But that's another matter.

The Cap and Scorpio which have Special Objects as a part of the figure both have rules stating that the respective Objects do not count as a part of your force.

There's a difference between your Object Total and your force composition. Just because the Gem on IB doesn't count toward your Object Total doesn't mean it is not a part of your force.

Is this in the Players Guide? Been waiting for the new one so haven't looked at last years in awhile. But it isn't in the wording of the card. I know I can use 3. But I thought I'd throw the question out there anyways.

I don't own the card, myself, but that wording is certainly on the Print-And-Play version of the card.
So from this thread my understanding is that you cannot have In-Betweener with a Soul Gem attached and an Infinity Gauntlet on someone else in the same force? And furthermore you cannot have two Soul Gems in play at the same time, for instance one on the In-Betweener and one as a special object for someone else to pick up? If so, that's a real shame. I was hoping to be able to play the In-Betweener with his gem and then try and get the gem with Lobo or Wolverine or somebody like that. Thanks for the clarification.
