I could see him going there. But I honestly think Michael Floyd is too good to pass up there. He is a big, physical receiver that can stretch the defense with his speed, or exploit bump and run coverage against much smaller corners. The man is 6'3 and 220lbs. Runs a 4.47. With the explosion of Cam Newton and the resurgence of Steve Smith, adding another weapon to help free them up, could be devastating. Look at Smith in particular. The guy was the only real receiving threat on that team last year. Imagine what will happen when teams have to cover someone else.
Panthers could wait until the 2nd round to address their pass rushing needs.
Vinny Curry is one to watch. At the combine, he ran a 4.98, but word was he was injured. So at his pro day, he ran a 4.64 and a 4.68. That is crazy speed off the edge, especially for someone 266lbs. He was Conference USA Defensive Player of the year. 11 sacks, 7 Forced Fumbles, and 22 tackles for loss. Guy is a wrecking machine.
Those are good points, CP. Either of those players would work.
I would be totally joyous if the Bengals pick like that mock draft...I am worried they are going to reach for a Wide receiver...
If Michael Floyd falls past 10 or 12, I could see them packaging a 3rd or 4th with their 17th to move up to grab him. Otherwise, I don't see them taking a shot at an unproven WR. They are ready to win now. Just hoping they don't get antsy and grab Kendall Wright with one of their picks. The more I see tape of this guy, the more I think Griffin made him better. Just rewatched his combine, horrible. 4.68? No thank you. Plus he is all of 5'10, and the Bengals already have their slot receiver with Jordan Shipley.
I am still thinking the Bengals will end up landing Mohammed Sanu from Rutgers in the 2nd round. Big receiver, not great straight line speed, but has game speed. Could cause separation and out jump defenders.
Though they could feasibly wait even longer. The WRs in this draft are really deep. BJ Cunningham, Ryan Broyles, Marquis Maze, Davier Posey, Chris Rainey, Nick Toon, Marvin McNutt...and the list goes on. They are all 2nd or 3rd day draftees. All could have an impact with Green, Shipley, Green-Ellis, and Gresham in the lineup.
By the way, if anyone cannot tell...this is my favorite time of the year. The draft is my Christmas. Because being a Browns fan, it is all I got...
Whats really weird is that I'm not a huge browns fan, (but I'm a huge McCoy fan) and Im catching myself keeping up with the Browns then my own cowboys.
And as long as Browns make the smart choice of going With Richardson, and staying away from Tannahill, they'll have a 9-7 year.
Either that or swap 1st with Rams, have them throw in Jackson and a second.
This way they can have Jackson,Blackmon and Zeigler. All in just the first round they took care of their biggest needs

I hope they give him another year. Last year, the guy had no running game, a rookie WR who sat out a year in college, and his best receiver is a converted college quarterback, who is a kick returner at best....
Tannehill is a huge stretch at 4, and I don't see him slipping past 12. So unless they trade their 22nd and the rest of the draft to get back up there, he should be off the list. Again, I pray they stay away from Brandon Weeden. Unless you are dead set on starting him this year, there is no reason for him to be on your draft board. If he backs up for a year, we are talking about him starting his first game when he is 30 years old.
They will draft a Quarterback at some point. I just don't see them going into the season with Seneca Wallace as the backup. So not sure if they are targeting Brock Osweiler, Nick Foles, Kirk Cousins, or whom.
With all the talk they are doing about Richardson, I am starting to wonder if it is a smoke screen. They know the Bucs want him badly. If Tampa doesn't deal with the Vikings, I could see them throwing a mid rounder to Cleveland to jump one spot to grab him. Either way, the Browns should end up with one of their top needs.
Blackmon is my number one want. Though I can settle with Richardson, if they use the 22nd pick to grab a Wide Out. I still like Stephen Hill there.

I chuckled at this post... Then Homer Simpson invaded my mind for a moment to say "Its funny cuz its true..."
Unfortunately I don't keep up with college sports enough to know who's who and I don't want to put enough effort into reading up on all of them now. I'll just wait to see who the Pats draft and then read up on those guys.

Well, being a Vikings fan, I'm in the same boat. My ideal situation is that Tampa trades up from 5th overall to get Richardson, adding 3rd and 5th rounders to the trade, so Minny can stockpile picks. Then we either get Claiborne or Kalil(I prefer Claiborne) and have more picks. If they can pick up Claiborne and assuming Chris Cook isn't rusty, their defense is poised for a quick turnaround.
One sleeper to watch in this draft is Russell Wilson. He's 5'10" tall, but he is very good. I can see him being a 3rd-5th round choice who can blossom quickly.
My other team is the Broncos, and I'm praying Michael Brockers falls to them at 25. I would endorse them moving up to 15-20 area to snag him. Don't know what it will take, but I want them to. If they don't and he's off the board, I want Doug Martin out of Boise State. Pass-catching back is what we need, as Josh Mcdaniels screwed up with Moreno. Several local writers are recommending TE Coby Fleener, but they just signed Dreesen and Tamme. Overcrowding at the position with other need players available doesn't sit well with me.
Back to the Linebacking corps question. Heres who I would take:
OLB: Lawrence Taylor. Probably the best OLB of all time
MLB: Dick Butkus. Was really surprised no one else picked him! Easily the greatest MLB of all time
OLB: Demarcus Ware. By the time he retires he will be pushing LT for GOAT
If its a 3-4 I would add in Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher. Probably lean Towards Urlacher because of his coverage skills. With LT and Ware you dont need any help rushing the passer lol
"With the 19th pick in the 2012 NFL draft the Chicago Bears select.... Michael Floyd!"
Wishful thinking because I dont think he falls that far but thats who I would like for my Bears.
I want the Bears to take Vontaze Burfict with the 19th pick. Only because my Vikes are going to be the division doormat for a couple years.
In all seriousness, the Bears need O-line help. I'd be looking at Decastro or Reiff, or even some interior D-line guys before a receiver. Brandon Marshall will be good for Cutler, and you can snag a receiver late round.
As for the linebacker debate, I'd almost take Lewis over Butkus for MLB. There's no way to know for sure, but I don't think Butkus stacks up against the modern game as well as Lewis. And in another 10 years, Patrick Willis could be the choice.

Bears need O-Line and D-Line help but Floyd is a game changer and pairing him with BMarsh would be AWESOME!
People are gonna be surprised at how good our O-Line does in the post Martz era. I wouldnt mind any of these players:
Floyd
Quinton Coples
Whitney Mercilus
Chandler Jones
Luke Kuechley
Mark Barron
Melvin Ingram
Donta Hightower
Ray Lewis is good dont get me wrong but hes not on the same level as Butkus. If Butkus played 16 years like Ray Ray his stats would be untouchable!

To be honest, I would be surprised if they didn't trade one of their first round picks to pick up even more picks. Otherwise, I could see them adding a young receiver like Stephen Hill to sit out the season and learn. Then at the end of the year, they drop Chad Johnson, Deion Branch, and/or Donte Stallworth.
Also, they need a pass rusher. Could see them trying to get someone like Chandler Jones or go Linebacker with Donta Hightower.

Can't wait for tonight.
I would be shocked if Brockers falls to 25. But it is the NFL Draft, so anything can happen. With Doug Martin, I think you can wait until the 2nd or 3rd to get a running back. But Doug seems to fit the team nicely. One to watch here though, is LeMichael James. Think what they could do with his speed, especially lining up out of the backfield against Linebackers. Manning could have a field day.
Wilson's size scares me, just like it does with Kellen Moore. Though Wilson has great speed and could break down defenses with it. Reminds me too much of Troy Smith and not enough Michael Vick though.
I would like my Bengals to take Whitney Mercilus just so I could have his jersey!! What a last name for a football player!!
I don't want him there. They have enough pass rushers with Gino Dunlap and Michael Johnson. Colt will never get a break.
They could be targeting him though since they let Rivers go to the Giants. Or maybe even Hightower. They have to go corner with their first pick though, no way Clements or Pac-Man should be starting.
