Unlocked Supergirl. Unfortunately no Superman theme when she flies around, but at least with her and Brainiac I can imagine I'm running a Legion team, even if it's B5's ancestor.
Only thing I haven't gotten in the game is the Two-Face goon.
The create-a-character dept. in this game seems lacking in the sequel compared to the first one, at least on Wii. They give you more slots to make characters, and those extra slots are due to the types of guns. Unfortunately they don't give you as much variety in hair or clothing as they did in the first one, or even secret characters to put together like the first one did with Azrael & Spoiler. Oh well, the open world and Superman made up for a lot of the game's shortcomings. Will still play this with friends.
There actually are some hidden characters. You can make John Stewart Green Lantern withthe GL mask and the african american skin color and GL's suit. But this is the real surprise!
YOU CAN MAKE VIXEN! not that great, but still a character made only by the creater using the yellow skirt/dress outfit. Mr. Freeze is by far my fave, though his voice actor was not recognizable at all.
The Xbox version is also in HD, whereas the Wii version is not. There's no reported differences in the gameplay or story, but I'm unaware if the Xbox version has DLC for characters that don't come with the game, like Black Adam.
Tonight I got more gold bricks and free played a couple levels and noticed there are some must-haves for the free play-
The last two are the toughest to get, but both have a sonic scream that allows you to break glass if you can't access that certain bat suit. You have to have at least 100 gold bricks (not sure how many exactly) to be able to purchase Black Canary.
I love flying around as Superman and finding the gold brick hidden on top of the building that has to be unlocked by one the Batman/Robin suits, following the path of bits down to the bottom to the suit, then going all the way back up in the suit to get the gold brick.
Biggest improvement in the game? Being able to access any unlocked character in free play.
I was really hoping Deadshot would have made this game's character list so I could've run him with Digger for a Suicide Squad team. I do like using Robin & Cyborg for a Teen Titans team-up.
Digger's in the X-box version? I have the Ps3 version. Btw, Deadshot is in the DS version along with deathstroke, Zaszz, Black Mask, and a lot of exclusives. Have you unlocked extra toggle yet? It gives youthe ability to be penguin goon, poison ivy goon, freeze goon, and joker goon, and a bunch of arkham inmates, a mayor, a lady with a purse, lexbot staff, and more. Some are exclusive to only certain levels are segments of levels, though which was a bit frustrating. I found the story good, while the levels we're hard and felt like a chore.

That's what that is? I was wondering...
I too am a little underwhelmed with the create. i want a certain weapon with a certain this and that, but it's not available in that bracket. URGH!
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
Well I finished everything last week. It was a fun game. Probably the best LEGO game so far.
I'm now looking forward to the Lord of the Rings LEGO game.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. I've seen a trailer and watched interviews. The developers are using dialogue from the movies (I know AWESOME) but then think about it, how much dialogue is appropriate for young people and how much will youngens understand? exactly. They'll end up mashing everything up and it'll be rushed.

Eh. I've played every LEGO game ever made on the XBOX, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

If they can make the LOTR one as good or better than this one, I'm in. And since Green Arrow didn't make the cut in this game, I'm definitely looking forward to Legolas (he already has "Lego" in his name - yes I realize how corny that was).

Definitely, especially when he gets the smoky burst around him as you're zipping around Gotham.
Kind of peeved some characters are exclusive to downloads or codes since I don't connect online with the Wii. If they come out with some generic codes, I'd love getting those characters like Black Adam & Bizarro.
I started to open up the other rally points after beating the main story which allows you to fight other villains and buy them for your collection. General Zod made it in the game, so there's that.
I'm actually really kind of peeved and let down by the fact you have to beat the game to be able to run around Gotham as characters you unlock. Lego Indy II and Harry Potter 1 and 2 (the previous open world concepts ones) both let you swap up to characters long before beating the game. Lego Indy II, as soon as you bought them you could change, and for Harry Potter as soon as you unlocked poly juice potion you could change. It made a big difference as you could then unlock things for normal play or free play (such as the red bricks, where as in this you cannot unlock most of them until you've already won, in which case they are largely unnecessary)
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Well, the story was a bit thin in LEGO Batman 2, and they pretty much have you controlling just Batman, Robin, and Superman up until the last 2-3 levels.
I'm sure I could have run around and unlocked other villains and heroes between levels, but I was intent on beating the story first. The extra characters are still useful for free play, especially Aquaman. Unlocking most of the good guys requires tracking down the gold bricks in the open world of Gotham, which is sectioned into 3 parts. The ones where you have to scale the buildings in Robin's Acrobatic suit are the best!
Not sure how I feel about the voice acting for future LEGO games. I'm really glad they didn't do it with the first one covering the Star Wars prequels!

Having completed the storyline and unlocked up through Martian Manhunter, I'm a bit disappointed in a few things in Lego Batman II and pleased by other things.
1. Superman is awesome (a bit broken, but awesome none the less). Flight, X-ray vision, Heat vision, 'Freezy' Breath, Invulnerability, quick build...a lot of fun playing as the big S, particularly flying around the city with his theme music going.
2. Most of the Justice League is well done with two exceptions.
3. Gotham City is well designed, and the remote Bat computers were nice.
The downsides:
1. Martian Manhunter is a total let down. I'm not even a fan of the character and was massively disappointed he couldn't turn invisible ala the Sensor Suit. Also, since you can duplicate every suit but the Sensor and Acrobat suit, who is supposed to be the heros who can handle these jobs so you don't have to be those suits?
2. The innability to cycle the suits during free play irked me. It was nice in Batman 1 that you could cycle the Batman/Robin suits for any given application. Batman 2 means you may do a lot of back tracking as you jump through characters in levels to unlock things only to find that you need a Robin or Bat suit from early in the level. This was definitely a bad choice to drop
3. As previously noted, how late you get to play as the Justice League and the fact you must beat the game to free play run around as different characters in Gotham. Personally this is tied into one of the cardinal sins of the Lego Games, and that is giving you character x once you 100% the game. At that stage it's kind of pointless to get them (which would be Supergirl in this one). Still, the fact you have to end it before you can swap in the 'open' stage is something no other lego game has done. Every one since Starwars has let you swap up to purchased characters, although Harry Potter did make you learn Poly Juice first, but at least you could do it pre end of game, so that you could go get things that might be helpful to beat the actual game.
Overall it's definitely not the strongest of the lego titles, although it has all the pieces that it could have been. It's also not the worst. It just feels like some silly design decisions were made.
On the speech bits, neither here nor there. What was fun was the ticker tape in the news reports. Those were the best lines in the game and no one spoke them.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Also, since you can duplicate every suit but the Sensor and Acrobat suit, who is supposed to be the heros who can handle these jobs so you don't have to be those suits?
Well, you have heroes that can fly to get through the acrobatic stuff for the most part (other than the Monkey Ball bit).
As for the sensor suit, you can fly over the camera in certain levels and do the puzzles with characters that have X-ray vision (Superman or Zod).
Your other points are well made. Personally, while the Acrobatic suit was probably the ugliest of the bunch, it was my favorite to use when locating the gold bricks in the city. The one where you have to constantly jump from one pole to the next on one of the tallest buildings in the game was awesome!

Any advice on the aerial obstacle courses? I cannot gets these. The vehicles just drift and I can't get them back on course. I have a Wii if that matters.
