So the final team would be the above, with Time Gem on Gauntlet on Genis-Vell?
Alright then. I was toying with the idea of a Genis-Vell team anyways, so I'll give this a whirl. There's at least 3 different people running Sentry/Void that we know of at the shop I play at, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
I think that as long as the opposing Sentry/Void teams don't maximize for value modification (i.e. Perplex) then my team wins more often than 5/10.
Against a team like I played in the 3rd round, you may need a little luck here and there, as I did.
There were other differences and mistakes I could see in hindsight on my part, and my opponent's part, like where the perplex went on several turns, etc, but dodging my opponent's alpha strike was key, and luck certainly factored in to that.
With the IG, it will definitely be interesting, lemme know what happens at your event!

Fellowship was like a lottery.
For attending, you get your name entered in once.
For winning a match, you get your name entered in once as well.
My opponent had 3 total entries into the "lottery" for attendance, and wins in round 1 and 2.
His name ended up being pulled from the pool of entries.
We all decided that we preferred this lottery style of fellowship, and that getting extra entries for round wins would still somewhat reward good play, yet give everyone a chance at the prize.
First things first: congrats on your victory, KC! Must have felt good to win in such a difficult meta! You sure got lucky, but luck wouldn't have won Thanos alone. So congratulations, man!
That first Sentroid player must be kicking him/herself until now.
But anyway, yeah, I agree that you should have gone with IG + Time. I'm not much of a fan of the randomness of Relics.
And in a related topic: if you couldn't use the Witch, how you'd sub her?
My venue probably won't allow FFs, so, if I can't use a Sentroid myself, I'm really considering going Mystics/WC Abuse. But the Witch's TK, PC and Perplex is looking really hard to be substituted.
I thought about going:
Genis Vell T-Bolted with IG + Time
Hawkeye T-Bolted
Rick Jones
Morgan Le Fey
...or switching Morgan for another Ricky, a GF Space Phantom, and some more gems for Genis to play with.

That actually looks great!
If I had not had the Scarlet Witch, that's definitely a good switcheroo.
Morgan is a little sturdier, and can be a formidable attacker if she stays near top click.
The IG of course definitely rounds it out well. (I didn't run it at my event, as it was not allowed)
The only downside is that if you face a ton of Sentroid and other hyper-meta options, you'll almost always have to go with Mystics. With Scarlet Witch, if you Tbolted to something like Avengers Initiative, only Genis-vell was non-Mystics.

one possibility might be a 3rd rick jones, freeing up another 25 points to do a full gauntlet but that then means you have to give up a perplex to get any prob, and cant do it till turn 4. also, it means that your gauntlet weilder will be your only tk. also, you wont have any perplex till you push all 3 jones' it still does give you the whole team is mystics bit though.
also, i was 3rd opponent in this write up. it was a great game, and i enjoyed it up untill the critical hit, and then again about 15 minutes after the match was over. I am a terribly sore loser though, and its hard to make myself not be . As for the posts citing FRI violations, they didnt happen. the only rules violation as far as i could tell was void teleporting of of mystics damage from my previous turn. If I had understood the power properly, i would have been able to do the same thing a turn earlier immedietly after switching to void. So, it made little difference in the end.
KC is a really REALLY good player, and a very innovative team builder. I noticed some people are a bit dismissive about his team building advice on here, but he knows what hes talking about. Congrats man.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing Sentroid a lot there. Probably Big G and/or Dorm too. Chanos is a huge maybe. And I'm pretty sure I'll see The Unspoken too.

anything but a crit... thats all i needed
A third Ricky did cross my mind, but, as you said, it can be complicated, as things would only start to get together well later on. Thanks, I'll give this a thought too.
Man, don't worry about it. I think anybody in your place would have a tough time accepting the loss. And I wish I could be there to watch the match. Sounds like it was a hell of a fight.
That's why I've been seeking a reply from him in the other thread on my teams. :P
A couple of things that have occured to me since the end of that game:
If you had not crit, but knocked back i still would have been in pretty bad shape, probably. The knock back damage would have still killed void, but allow for the revert. I could have multi attacked to kill GV (who was AE'd, so not mystic btw) and re-void, but hawkeye would have been able to shoot, forcing the revert again, and with a token i couldnt have re-re-voided. i probably would have multi attacked to move twice and get in the 'room' closest to me on the high ground to buy time to clear. it would have been tough though from there since your 2 remaining figures had mystics.
If you had not crit or rolled knockback, i had plenty of movement to teleport to you and use the 1 damage to finish off GV, then fled to the elevated 'room' as void, and honestly prey i roll anything but 1 or 2. a 3 or 4 on regen, i at least get a second regen roll.
if i could have killed GV though, i feel like i would have been able to fly to/from the high ground whenever you got close. I would have done it with the intention of trying to regen into something that i could use to get scarlet witch off the board. with 2 mystics though, and being so low and relying on regen, time being called is probably what would have happened.
I'm not saying i had it won, by any means. I'm sure there were things you could have done. I just never got a chance to see.
that frikkin crit...
I wish someone would have recorded that game though, because it was very good
I also don't have any of the top pieces people are talking about, but in the 4 boosters of CW I have bought I have managed to get a Genis-Vell and a Hawkeye. I might try my own variation of a build like this. Maybe something different.
Its unfortunate my venue is not allowing fast forces because that Scarlet Witch is siiiiick.
Venue: The Gaming Goat in Elgin, IL. Find us in the WizKids event system.
You mentioned that one of the reasons you chose the team you did is because Dormammu was off the table. Out of curiosity, what was your Dormammu team, if you even had one planned? I'm thinking about running big daddy D myself and am interested to see what others run with him.
2012 Tournament Record: 7 Wins - 7 Losses
2 Second Place Finishes

It wasn't so much a Dormammu team that I had, just that facing against a Dormammu team would just absolutely destroy the Tbolts/Mystics.
The Dormammu team is tough to build for though, simply because Dormammu really starts to "crap out" on his later clicks.
If I had to choose a 150pt candidate for his Empower a Minion, it would probably be Nova Prime or Captain Marvel.
