Sorry, you told me you didn't have time. I don't see where that puts you in a bad light.

And now I'll be spending the next hour clicking related links for Nick Cave. Dang it. I guess I'll go ahead and start this list, subject to editing at a later date:
A couple that I really like, a couple that I was glad to hear, and a couple that are pretty boring. I guess I could nit-pick my choices forever, but may as well make this it.
1- Bruce Springsteen- This one really took me by surprise. What a cool song. Disclaimer- I normally don't care that much for Bruce Springsteen, but after getting through my 30 seconds of predjudice, gave in.
2- Nick Cave- My nephew has always been a big Nick Cave fan, and he has pretty good tastes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
3- King Crimson- Not the best of King Crimson, but I enjoy it.
4- Lowell George- Just fun to listen to.
5- Billy Joel- One of my son's favorite movies a long time ago. When I hear the song, brings back memories. Nostalgia factor could have made it 3,4, or 5.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
6- Electric Light Orchestra- Don't love it, but listenable
7- Brad Paisley- I like some Brad Paisley songs a lot, but this isn't one of them. Formulaic country, nothing special.
8-Foghat- I like some Foghat songs a lot, but this isn't one of them. Formulaic rock, nothing special.

1) Nick Cave
and the rest
Nick Cave is one of my favorites. I didn't know the Bruce Springsteen song, and maybe everyone else does, but for any who don't I hope they will also give it a good listen.
What a Saturday in my life, actually hawking Bruce Springsteen. Life is strange!!
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep doing these. Evaluating 8 songs over the course of a week doesn't seem unreasonable, especially since we had less time then that to evaluate Rock Wars matches. But I sure ain't getting the participation Rock Wars had.

The difference to me is, here you need to listen them all at once, not over a week, but in one setting, as heck I often forget how Song 3 went when Im on Song 5 (especially since I dont know alot of these from the get go), and thats listening to them at the same time, not over a week! And considering we have to rate them in order, not just pick the one we liked best, but list them top to bottom, its important they all stay fresh in our minds, meaning listening to them all together.
Rock Wars was on a day to day basis very easy, 2 songs, listen to both, pick the one you liked better, takes about 10 minutes a day, very easy. This you have to listen to them all (which is very tough when theres 8 songs) and rank them top to bottom, which for me I need to do all at once, and for this many songs would take 30 - 45 munites and Im sorry but on an average day I just dont have that much extra time (I work 2 jobs, plus my own HCR stuff, and then some).
Sorry buddy, but this SNDS set up is just not the same set up as RW, and IMO is just harder to commit to using this many songs.

Well, if the format doesn't work for you, I don't expect a commitment but I just think it shouldn't be that difficult normally.

Sorry not to have gotten to this sooner. A chance to sit and listen through to all 8 songs at once didn't come easy this past week.
1. Lowell George - only one song here got me bopping along and that was this one. Loved the big bluesy sound. Very cool. Miles ahead of the competition.
2. Bruce Springsteen - not the bigggest Bruce fan, but I liked this one.
3. Brad Paisley - Never used to be able to tolerate country, but the more I listen to, the more I can appreciate some of it. This wasn't bad at all.
4. ELO - Great music? Maybe not, but it was fun.
5. Nick Cage - Powerful yes, but I'd choose to listen to at least a few of these others over this.
6. Billy Joel - generally Billy Joel could count on a higher ranking from me for one of his songs, but this really isn't one of my favorites. I remember loving the Innocent Man album, except really for this one.
7. King Crimson - I could see getting into this on the right day, but today wasn't that day.
8. Foghat - Meh, wasn't really digging this one.
Well, once we get the rest of Hail's list, VG9 can do the numbers because I don't think anybody else is going to weigh in.

I'm actually pretty darn curious to see how the tally works out. The styles were so diverse, from lots of interesting performers. I also wish more people would weigh in to hear more opinions, but personally really enjoy evaluating them. 5 people or 50, I appreciate your doing these, and enjoy the comments. Thank you!!
I'm leaving the tallying up to VG9. He had a method for that and tacitly agreed to do it.
