While the rules certainly explain that Ignoring Hindering terrain for movement includes water terrain.
I just don't see how hard it would have been to have the chart that shows what "Improved Movement" + "Green Square" does if it had simply said "Ignores Hindering and Water Terrain".
I know its technically redundant. But for all the players who don't know the nuances of everything... it seems perfectly logical. And I can't imagine i ever hurting anything.
Edit: Though come to think of it, i wish they would remove the collation between these two. Why should batman/spiderman not be hindered by water?
I have as of this moment decided it would be more interesting if ignoring green for movement didn't encompass water terrain.
Would make maps with water much more interesting, and characters who ignore water terrain much more interesting. But that's purely opinion and probably doesn't belong in this thread. But oh well...its topical.
ok.. now i am confused. so IM does (yes) ignore water terrain for movement? or IM doesn't (no) ignore water terrain for movement
Water terrain is considered hindering terrain for movement purposes. And that includes Improved Movement. So yes, Having the green square which allows you to ignore hindering terrain for movement, includes the 'blue' water terrain.
So, would I be correct in assuming that the same could be said for blocking terrain and and walls? For example worldbreaker can move through indoor walls and destroy them the same way he would destroy a brown square while moving?

water is its own terrain that is why on the power and ability card there is a blue square for improve movement. yes water is hindering terrian for movement but again it is its own terrian

Yer darn tootin'
But because the definition of that terrain says that it IS hindering terrain for movement, the green square is all that is needed to cover it in Improved Movement.
But hey, you are free to rule it differently from the official rules. All I ask is that you be consistent. If you do not allow L/Cers to ignore water terrain, please apply that to Phasers, Giants, Collosals, and Fliers, too. If you don't, then you will confuse your players.
Wow. So a character like Black Bat can just shimmy across the top of an entire ocean with her improved movement. That's just..... well, dumb. Oh well, not that there's much water terrain showing up on maps anyways.

Yes...just as she has been able to do since long before Improved Movement existed.
Improved Movement didn't change anything.
It is simply a graphical way of saying "This character ignores __A__ for __B__."
A is whatever gets ignored, and B is movement or line of fire.
Leap/Climb once said "...ignores the effects of hindering terrain, elevated terrain, and outdoor blocking terrain on movement." (Note that the hindering terrain mentioned there included water.)
Now that whole phrase is simplified with a couple of pictures to say the exact same thing.

The Bat family is always prepared. When they move across water they are using miniature jet skies they packed in their utility belt.
