It all depends of who is attacking, really. If Batman is attacking Superman, Superman will just be too confused as to why is friend and colleague is coming after him, so he won't attempt to do much more than smack Bats around, which Batman WILL be able to avoid, at which point he'll defeat superman. If Superman is going after Batman, whether it's mind control, rage, whatever, Batman is so screwed it's not even funny. But assuming Clark doesn't kill him, which I think is a safe bet, then he comes back at Superman again, but with a plan.
And probably the rest of the Justice League.
So whoever is going off the rails and initiating the fight wins. But only in round 1. Round two goes to the other guy, when they start to take things seriously.
There is never a round three, because a super villain attacks by that point.
I like to think of Batman as a street-level detective who deals with pulp-crime. Superman would easily beat him at that level, but I don't care because Batman is still cool.
Unfortunately, more often Batman is shown as some super godly genius who is overcompensated by bad writers who want to make sure he isn't overshadowed by the rest of the Justice League. He loses all his charm but gains the ability to go toe to toe with Superman :/
I want Bats to win, but it's very very very unlikely that he would, unless there was some very unusual situation where he set a very special trap. And yeah that can happen. It can happen where he beats everyone in the JLA. But it's not going to happen in any normal situation; only where he sets up the situation, and it happens to work according to plan.
Ways to take down superman have been shown-Magic, red sunlight, Kryptonite, etc. The winner of the fight depends on the story and the person writing it. Superman could paste Batman and still lose the fight. Just depends on what kind of fight it is. If you mean classic fisticuffs, then it pretty much is one panel of splat. If it's a battle to see who's right, then its up in the air. I was watching Justice league Doom which was based on the Babel storyline. In that story Superman was about as dumb as a bag full of hammers. In another story Superman's not only the smartest person in the room at all times, but he's got Super everything!
Just saying, it all depends on the story and the writer.
Always try to leave an internet argument at lvl 1!
I heard the Red Hulk and The Sentry are going on a double date with Cable and Deadpool.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
I think I'd like to change my answer to "They screw and get it over with."
You just reminded me of an issue of AvX where Namor is fighting the Thing I believe. http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1...y_x_men_12.jpg I think that's probably the number one guaranteed way to stop a fight. Plus the look on Ben's face was PRICELESS!
Always try to leave an internet argument at lvl 1!
There's no logical explanation for Batman ever beating Superman.
If we're looking at this as if comic books were real/possible, there's no reason for ANYONE to ever beat Superman. His power set is unmatched. Some are stronger, some are faster, but NO ONE can do ALL of the things Superman can do.
Hulk can take a punch from Superman...but he can't take a thousand of them per second. If he were to use all of his powers at maximum capacity, Superman is unbeatable.
Thugit, there's a reason that Superman was missing during the World War III storyline. Black Adam would have murdered him. Superman is vulnerable to magic, plus he holds back at the start of a fight. Black Adam fights to kill, simply enough.
But back to the Superman Batman not fight, I found this little jewel from the first time they met.
straight up fisticuffs? of course superman wins
if batman doesn't have a plan? of course superman wins
that being said, when doesn't batman have a plan? idk about new continuity, but he used to always have a kryptonite ring in his belt at all times just in case. He has been shown as capable of avoiding both supermans super vision and super hearing, as well as being an incredibly strong and versatile fighter and a far superior tactician to superman.
from the shadows, batman wins.
with things in his favor, batman wins
and batman hardly ever goes into situations that can't be turned to his favor if needed
Better not be steaming my clams, or things will not end well for you
