He's perfect! Since he first appeared in Ultimates, I've been trying to run duplicates of him. This is finally the take that allows it! For just 1 Mysterio, the other versions are still superior. But who's to say I won't use them all together?
holy cow that's awesome! I bet you don't have to reveal to your opponent at all which one is the 70 pointer.
You'll need to keep track yourself; clicks #1 and #2 of both the Original and Illusion version of Mysterio are identical, including click numbers!
I like how it's kinda like Astral Dr. Strange, except it's on the same dial and only takes up 1 character slot.
It'll be frustrating if you can manage to keep the 70pt version consistently swapped out with the illusions, leaving your opponent only scoring 15 points apiece.
I can't wait for this set to come out, and this just adds to my anticipation!! I love that both versions have the exact same dial, so your opponent won't be able to tell who is the 'real' mysterio!

Here's the REALLY cool thing. The fact that he has identical stats on both the fake and the real Mysterio means that no one will be able to tell which is the fake, and which is the 70 pt figure. No one, except you.
Unlike the Secret Invasion Skrull clix (which your opponent knew was either a human or a Skrull at the start of the game), because they have even renumbered the clix so that Mysterio has two sets of #1 and #2 slots, you can totally bluff people into thinking they have cornered the 70 pt version, when in fact, they are chasing the fake.
Just make sure you memorize and keep track of the real Mysterio when you are moving your pieces around, because even you won't be able to tell the difference until someone is KO'd!

I NEVER understood that, either! Its a freakin' Skrull! You shouldn't have ever had to reveal to your opponent which one you were playing?!?!? Until it was KO'ed. Now, with different power sets on the pieces, it wouldn't take long for your opponent to figure out which one you were playing, but still! That whole Skrull thing was not handled very well.

I was thinking just the opposite, actually. I like this sculpt a lot more than the WoS one.
Very cool take on the character. I didn't think I needed a new one with the great WoS version, but this one looks like a lot of fun to play. I will need at least 6!

Ultimates Mysterio beats them both, IMO. Its a perfect recreation of an iconic Steve Ditko pose. Still one of my favorite sculpts.

There are two other reasons why the Skrull mechanic was a big fail. Obviously the fact that there was only one sculpt, and that it was a Skrull sculpt, so even you human looked to be a Skrull was a huge mistake. The other problem was that their starting clix had differing stats. The initial click should have been identical, then diverged from there. THEN they could have tried something similar to what they are doing with Mysterio.
Too bad. Would have been pretty cool to surprise people with Skrull Captain Marvel when no one knew for sure which one you were using.
They will know that the real one is the one with the Full Gauntlet.
Or nicely loaded Belt.
I couldn't see risking it with the Gauntlet, but why not throw the Belt on a 15pt Mysterio? Its cheap enough to risk it and would further heighten the subterfuge.
muwahahahahaha.....
