Unless you start her at 75. Then she's pretty useful. Why even bother creating the top dial that will NEVER be more useful? I'm baffled and try not to be negative but seriously this is crazy. Higher cost for lower attack and lower damage potential? Get a clue Wizneca! Whoever has been making dials for the last 3 sets needs a lesson in how this game actually plays.
Yeah...gaining Impervious, higher defense, and trading charge for L/C as a tactical option while being able to remove tokens from her teammates. Man, they were crazy!
In all seriousness, it's a tradeoff: two more clicks that are MUCH more likely to stick around at a reasonable cost while helping the team, or use the points elsewhere and use as a more aggressive (but more easily taken out) brick.

No, because there were frequent moments in the original run (J. Scott Campbell, not any of the reboots) where he did function in such a capacity. The main instance that pops out in my mind would be when the boys had to save the girls from Babyluv, Grunge melded with some putty and stretch-climbed an elevator shaft, carrying Bobby and Lynch the whole way. Granted, this sets the standard for Mr. Fantastic having transporter too, but... eh, why not?
That's not the move and attack ability, that the carry ability. If they wanted to give him the carry ability, I'd be somewhat OK with it. The move and attack power is wrong for Grunge.

Again, I remember these things happening. It still doesn't explain why his special power allows him to eat objects. He could duplicate the properties of materials he touched, he occasionally merged with objects, and occasionally imitated objects, but he never absorbed them permanently, as far as I can remember, and even if he did, it was rare and his SP shouldn't be based on it. It's been a while since I've read them, but I do own the entire original run of the books, and to me the character design just seems like a lazy internet search was done, articles were skimmed and powers were assigned.

As much I like the other Gen13 dials, I agree on these points at least as far as Grunge. He plays more like Absorbing Man than they should (Steal Energy, Regen) when he should really have the mimicry and Carry, but not recovery and Transporter. In the end, this is an accuracy complaint, not a playability one!

I'll concede that: I had a brain fart and completely forgot about the move and attack aspect. While I'd have no gripe with him sporting some form of charge, move and attack is pretty weird...

Grunge once took a few bullets to the belly, healed the wounds, and spit out the slugs. Why shouldn't he have a recovery ability?
It's been years since I read the original series, but honestly, I think Grunge is fairly accurate...

Don't remember that (has also been a while). If he looked like he didn't take damage and simply shrugged it off, that would fall under avoiding or reducing damage, not recovering from it. If it looked like it hurt but he THEN used the very bullets that hurt him to recover, that would be Regeneration.

Regeneration makes - he took serious damage several times and rebuilt himself. I remember at least one occassion when he lost an arm and had it back a few panel later. Steal Energy, on the other hand, makes zero sense.
