After a short interrogation period, Johnny Ell was released to join the newly arrived Morlock population beneath the city of New York.

After a longer interrogation Wade Cole was released disarmed to go back to his own life as a Hellfire Guard if he so chose.

It was now obvious that Central City was today's location for new arrivals and the Marvel Universe was once again the supplier.

After the fiasco with the Opal City arrivals, Fury asked the X-Men to work with the Flash to meet whoever else appeared. Since arrivals were trickier then before as evidenced by the hard time they had locating them yesterday, The Flash; who was also trying to locate Mysterio, was concerned about Marvel villains staking out Central City.

The X-Men sent Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Gambit and Colossus to back the Flash up. Ms. Marvel from the Avengers had already stayed behind and was lending her help trying to locate Mysterio.

Since Big Barda was restless and bored, she was sent as well.

Barda took one look at Colossus and began sizing him up. As a former Female Fury, she lived for battle and she longed to test herself against him. Peter noticed her attention and misinterpreted it as amour. He grew uncomfortable and was glad that Kitty Pride had stayed behind.

Yesterday's fiascos taught them that they couldn't sit still and wait for the new arrivals to come to them. They would have to spread out and look for them.

Nightcrawler teamed with Wolverine, Gambit teamed with Colossus and Ms. Marvel teamed with Big Barda. They began patrolling the perimeter of Central City. The Shield and National Guard troops protecting the city were put on high alert.

John Stewart and Firelord joined the group setting out to confront Despero.

"Galactus is still sated. I don't need to find him a planet to consume right now. I've come to help you shut down Despero."

In exchange for the heroes help, the Super Skrull and Ronan had to agree to leave Earth and Xandar completely alone. Since they didn't know about Oa, it was decided not to bring it up, at least not until it was better defended. This was meant to include the Saurians as well. Super Skrull agreed to speak to the Saurians who; he assured them, were very concerned about the threats of the Brood and the Manhunter robots.

Day 14: Noon, An alternate Earth near a replicated Central City.

Callisto was distraught. Marrow had been missing for several days and now a huge majority of the Morlocks were gone. It was beginning to look as if the Morlocks would be able to inherit the city and now most of them were gone.

She'd heard that this had been happening to the X-Men and other superheroes but didn't think it would affect her or her people. She should have known that if it was a bad thing, Morlocks would be first in line.

Feeling bitter; she walked along, stewing in her anger. She didn't see the rift in reality that she stepped into until she was halfway through it.

She arrived in what appeared to be a town square, but not a town she was familiar with.

As she was getting her bearings, she heard a voice shout, "Justice is served!"

Instinct made her duck immediately and an innocent civilian pedestrian behind her was gunned down.

She looked up and saw a ghoulish looking figure in white, curse about fecal matter and flee through a terrified crowd.

She'd heard about this guy. A serial killer called "The Scourge Of The Underworld".

This made her exceptionally angry and she hurried after him in pursuit.

Captain America decided to stay with Easy Company and Sgt. Rock to make sure that leaving the Punisher with Rock would work out.

He watched as Rock put him through his paces and prepped for an eventual assault to deal with the Nazi menace that still terrorized the European continent on this world. Cap intended to be along for that ride when they felt secure enough with the other threats like Darkseid to accomplish that.

Right now, they still hadn't even liberated Metropolis.

Callisto chased Scourge through the city. She was massively angry and he was the target of her ire. So Scourge identified Morlocks as part of the underworld, eh? She was going to shut him down.

Eventually Scourge realized he was being pursued. He recklessly fired his Thompson machine gun at her but missed. Each time he did, she closed the gap between them. She was faster then he was so that was happening anyway.

Finally she was close enough, that when he tried to aim at her, she threw a knife threw the back of his hand, severing nerves, rendering him incapable of holding his weapon.

He tried to grab with his other hand before it fell but Callisto was on him and pinned him down. She then yanked his head back and with another of her knives, slit his throat.

By then, Barry Allen had found them. He grabbed and disarmed Callisto and took her into custody.

The Flash was angry. He confronted the available X-Men with Callisto.

"What is it with your world?" he paused. "How many cold blooded killers do you call hero?"

Wolverine stepped up. "Callisto isn't necessarily a hero Flash, she's just a woman in extreme circumstances doing what she has to do. Why? What's happened?"

"I found her killing another from your world. Slit his throat, right in front of several horrified witnesses."

"Who'd she kill?"

"Some freak from your world dressed in a ghoulish white outfit. He'd fired a machine gun into a crowd and killed a pedestrian."

"Well, it seems to me, she did you a favor. Saved you a long drawn out trial and the expense of locking him up."

"That's not how we work. We're not vigilantes."

"Sometimes you don't have a choice."

"She had a choice. She had him subdued. She didn't have to kill him."

"Well aside from the fact that he deserved it, you have to understand the persecution she's had to put up with." Wolverine paused. "She's a Morlock, she doesn't follow society's rules. She's an outcast."

"On your world. Our world doesn't operate that way."

Wolverine responded angrily. "Who are you ----"

Nightcrawler cut him off. "Mein friend, we see why you are so upset. We understand. She stepped over the line in a passionate rage. We will take her back to the facility and bring her to face her crimes. She will be punished appropriately. Have you not had a comrade step over the line at some time?"

Calmed down, the Flash backed off. "All right. Take her with you. I need to ask you X-Men to let me handle this from now on though. Ms. Marvel can stay, but I'd rather you X-Men leave. This is my city, I'll handle it's security."

"All right, we'll leave. But you can't judge us all by one act of passion."

"I'm not judging you, I just want the playing field to be clear."

"If you say so, but if any more X-Men show up, we'll be back. We take care of our own."

" I --- I understand. I'll not get in the way if that happens but I can't sanction further killing. I won't put up with it."

"Understood."

The X-Men left.

The X-Men took Callisto back with their Blackbird Jet. They were sympathetic with Callisto's point and understood why she had slain Scourge. They told her about Marrow and the Morlocks and released her directly to join them without forcing her to confront Nick Fury. They decided to let Prof. X handle the diplomacy of it.

Callisto greeted the Morlocks and Marrow, her foster daughter warmly. Once again, the X-Men proved that they were allies to the Morlocks and not more oppressors. The X-Men had their support, any time they needed it.

Charles Xavier was left to explain to Nick Fury why they hadn't turned over Callisto for punishment over the Scourge murder. Fury understood, but felt that it would be a tough sell to their DC allies. The DC faction didn't know who "The Scourge Of The Underworld" was and Nick would make that clear to them.

Just Nick's luck. The Punisher first, then the Scourge of the Underworld? After those two, the DC faction was supposed to accept the Punisher as an ally? That was going to be a hard sell.

Barry Allen was very upset. His city was the recipient of some very dark and unpleasant arrivals today and it was only half through the day.

Gun thugs? Seriously? That's what it's reduced to? Who was this Scourge? An archenemy of the Punisher? If the Punisher learns that this "Scourge" is dead will he hang up his guns?

The main concern for Barry was protecting Iris and the rest of the civilians. He was angry because this Scourge had ruined that and Callisto had robbed him of his just retribution. But Barry didn't realize why he was angry, because he hadn't thought it out. He just knew he was angry and the X-Men were the target of his ire.

Ms. Marvel was trying to keep the peace. She knew this was the Flash's town but felt that the exclusion of the X-Men was excessive.

She continued to patrol Central City and chewed over the fact that the latest arrivals occurred inside the city, thusly evading welcoming parties.

Xavier was worried that more of the new arrivals would have ties to the X-Men so he sent Nightcrawler and Shadowcat back to keep a lookout. He would like to have sent Wolverine back with them but felt that the other two were less abrasive and less likely to aggravate the Flash if he discovered them. Instead he sent Wolverine and Colossus to scout the Smallville area as a future arrival point while sending Gambit and Iceman to scout Happy Harbor.

He sent Storm to look in on the Black Panther in Wakanda to help him adjust to the new world.

The population of Kahndaq was completed today and Black Adam now felt he could have a small amount of freedom to explore the rest of this world and learn the status of the other heroes and villains that had been abducted. He'd initially meant to force his return but since the citizens of Khandaq had been abducted he needed to try to find a way to get them back as well. He resolved to find Supergirl and learn what she was doing to get back.

Just as he was about to leave, a Boom Tube arrived and out stepped Darkseid with a strange green elfen appearing man.

"Greetings Adam, we have much to discuss. Allow me to introduce my associate. This is the elder god known as Nightmare from another universe."

Adam stared at them stonily then folded his arms and ordered them to speak their piece.
