I mention Game Knight in every episode. What's the difference?

Because it's funnier when he does it because it's a grocery store.

I'm definitely not hating on him for it (I was mostly being sarcastic), I've just noticed that I heard the phrase "because my venue is a grocery store" or some variation in at least the past three or four episodes and I found it amusing so I figured I'd call him out on it.

I try to make sure most of my posts can be seen as silly because it's hard to make a serious post with a dancing Peacock avatar.

I think he mentions the grocery store for that very reason. He knows that it is kind of ridiculous and funny. But he rolls with what he's got.

RE: Scenarios,

I've run a secret Wars scenario a bunch over the years. What I found successful and thematic was splitting it into 6 teams.

600 galactus (G) (last time I ran it, I included AVM Destroyer as his "cat" using the newer galactus and making it his "herald")
Xmen with Magneto (X)
Doom and minions (D)(doom, klaw, lizard, Ultron, titania, volcana, molecule man)
Kang and Minions (Kang, Wrecker, Wrecking Crew, absorbing Man, Doc Ock, Enchantress)
Avengers (A) (Hawkeye, Cap, Thor, Wasp (usually with lazarus pit), Iron Man, She Hulk, Captain Marvel)
FF+ (F) (Mr Fantastic, Torch, Thing, Hulk, Spidey, Spiderwoman

Galactus needs to kill everyone

I initially tried to incorporate more choices that aligned a bit better with the book (Kang and Dooms division etc.) but it was too complicated

as for the other scenarios mentioned, since I started running at a second venue I started a monthly scenario where I provided the pieces (I have a silly large collection) and I ran most of those

First one I did was "Strucker Gambit" where Hydra had to get to the lower level of the Helicarrier, rescue Strucker and reach an "open air" edge to get away with him

I ran secret invasion that wound up being about 4000pts per side (what can I say I REALLY like skrulls) and took far far too long, I've also done the other idea mentioned and a few others, if you ever want some ideas

Preset scenarios can make the game a lot of fun and quite a bit different

I'm wondering if they might not turn the ICWO card in to something for Bat Fam, BoP and JLA or something along those lines.

Also, i really like that you guys bring up problems in the community... However, the point "they can never make everyone happy" is a cop out. You could say what you think is most fair. You start to, but before you say NECA is wrong, or right, you just kinda shrug it off

I tire of all the complaining and don't want to contribute to it.

Interested in hearing how SHIELD vs Hydra goes, and if you guys spice it up at all (like Deep Science Division vs Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). Hope you both get to play this week! I think scenarios are part of the fun of the game, although I actually know some folks who prefer things kept to 'here's the build total' with minimal restrictions. Speaking of scenarios, and a possible way to play even if you don't have the time to sit down for an hour or more in one sitting:

Set up a map with the agreed build or scenario somewhere where it won't be messed with out of hand. Treat it more like a 'move-a-day' game of Chess or Go, where your goal on any given day is just to play through a single turn. This can be especially helpful for large point totals...like say a 1000+ Lanterns (or just Earth Heroes) VS Sinestro Corps. Day 1: Sinestro Corps acts, Day 2: Lanterns act, repeat. If you get the chance to speed it up by sitting down for 15 min to half an hour now and then, even better.

Finally got around to listening. I must say, I love Got Comics in Glendale Heights, IL. It used to be my regular venue before I got my job that doesn't allow me to play there anymore due to me working every Friday night.

HAHAHA. Yeah I know, I kinda do it as a running joke because this town is so freakin' bass ackwards when it comes to a gaming community. I find it funny that we play in a grocery store.

Feels kinda Mall-Ratish, but at the same time it's a gamers paradise....always snacks at hand, clean restrooms, air-conditioned/heated depending on season and open 24hrs. Technically we could go play there anytime we want as long as the room isn't reserved. I believe we could also have about 20ish games going at once in there as well. (It even has a microwave and free wi-fi)

The only downside is they do not sell any actual gaming stuff. (might have dice and playing cards in their toy aisle or on a clip strip.

Your grocery store venue sounds better than most actual venues.

TAT- James has the next big game at Game Knight. He's playing a team styled after the characters from Avengers: EMH and I'm playing the Masters of Evil from that series. Maybe SHIELD vs Hydra can be the month after that .
