I didn't say it wasn't a horrible ending (which it certainly was), but people damning a whole series just because of a bunk ending seemed, to me, as rather harsh, especially when the series is so good and the ending encompasses about 0.5% of actual gameplay time. It's not like the ending sucked out all the enjoyment I experienced throughout the rest of the series. It would be like someone perfectly performing Beethovens fifth up until the last note, which they then replace with a fart. Yeah, it sucks and is unbelievably stupid, but it didn't ruin the overall performance.
Also, it's just a game
Well I think everyone here was suggesting he play the whole series until the last bit, for that very reason.
I didn't start a riot and killed no children in the name of Mass Effect 3 (my reasons for civil unrest and infanticide were completely unrelated). I got mildly upset, shrugged my shoulders, became more jaded towards the gaming industry, and now enjoy ####ting on the ending out of sheer amusement; A reaction which I would expect is rather typical.

I think he should finish it, and form an opinion for himself. I honestly didn't find it all that bad. Could have been better, but overall I felt no need to discredit the entire series/become jaded about the video game industry.
Look at the massive amounts of positive ME brought into the video game world, instead of its minimal amount of faults.
If you invest years of your life in something you have no control over, you can't blame anyone but yourself if you don't agree with the outcome.
And yes, I'll probably get attacked for that, but it's true. Spend ten years writing a book? The last page is yours to author. Spend ten years reading a series? You can't get upset if suddenly everyone dies at a wedding.

So boycott everything? Also, I thought the wedding was p. sweet. I will say though, you are wrong, If you read a book for 10 years and everyone dies in a wedding in a passage that was lifted from a completely different book that had an altogether different tone, then I suppose I'd be annoyed at that too and stop reading that book.
My reason for disappointment was the lack of originality ( I did have other issues, that on their own wouldn't have soured the experience for me); I actually quite liked the ending the first time I played it. I went in expecting a lackluster ending, but not a reused one and I don't feel it an unreasonable expectation to want something that wasn't blatantly derivative.

I'm not damning the series, or even most of ME3 itself. I still can't play the single-player version of the game, though.
And the way the Citadel DLC is done, I'd almost wonder if they wanted to make that the "real" ending, but the way the heads of the project were all "NO THIS IS MY ARTISTIC VISION!" ixnayed it. I dunno, never played the DLC, wasn't going to pay for extras on the #### sandwich they gave me.
That being said, just play through to Marauder Shields, then let him win.

Guys. No. Just don't. It's really not worth it.
It's sometimes best to just let others have their opinion and not attempt to sway them.
This is especially true with the nerd culture.
The ending is good? The ending is bad? Meh...who cares? There are more important things to think about. Like boobs.

Not going into that here (in case OP played the first game), covered in the other thread. Its not that there's similarities in the whole only 5 stories ever told debate; I know you assume irrationality. The choices and interaction is lifted verbatim.
I do like how those in the did not like camp get attributed with things they didn't say and labeled as the more aggressive of the two sides. No one said anything untoward to anyone who liked the ending but we get raging butthurt nerdlings who shouldn't like things so much. Dissenting opinions bra, we're allowed to have em.
Also, who knew the coolest guy on the internet has a kitty cat avatar and frequents the website of those whom he despises. He must get all the boob his heart desires, which is a good thing because I'd imagine it's nigh unquenchable.
I'm in agreement with Malakim. If you don't want to pay the extra 15 dollars for what some believe to be the real ending, then just go on youtube and look up the videos from Fluffy Ninja Llama. It's the next best way to find out what happens and enjoy the story without having to pay for it. Just a minor spoiler, the morning after the party go to the bathroom....You'll find a hillarious hung over crewmember there. Either Javik, Grunt, or Tali.
Always try to leave an internet argument at lvl 1!

I'm totally guilty of this. Short version of reasons-I never saw much demarcation between "I say old chap, I did not care for the way the series ended; allow me to ennumerate my rationale," and (in some cases literally) "#### Bioware, they're a horrible company, I hope they all die in a fire, the ending gave me cancer, killed my dog, and choked my mother with its corpse."
Most on the 'Realms have been more rational, but that original few weeks? It wasn't pretty.

Well, I prefer not to think of the endings at all, because of how much (to me) that they sucked. If you liked 'em? Fine. But I know myself and a lot of other Realmsers played through the game and were all "THIS IS AWESOME! I LOVE IT!"... and then the roof caved in.
Figuratively speaking, anyway. However, IIRC, the ME Trilogy doesn't come with the ME3 paid DLC, so that's an extra $45 (?) that you'll have to scrounge up OP. Something to keep in mind, if it doesn't come with anyway.
(I believe Leviathan, Omega, and Citadel were each $15, but that's my recollection.)

I would say that's the suckiest part. It's nice that you get all 3 games, but a COMPLETE version (including DLC) would be awesome. I'm sure EA will release that version before ME 4.

Still wondering how'd they do a ME4... I mean, with how three ended, unless they went with
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Indoctrination Theory?!?!?
It'd have to be a prequel, right?
