It was just crap from top to bottom. The story was uninteresting, the villains totally forgettable, and especially the cast. Maybe the movie wouldn't have been as bad if Bruce Willis at least did something besides sleepwalk through his roles nowadays. He's become so dry and stiff, he's just playing the same bland roles over and over again. Then there's the zilch they got to play Jack. Horrendous.
After being stood up 3 weeks in a row I finally got to see This is the End...phenomenal, loved it all and loved how they didn't cut away from the bickering when most movies normally would, A ####ing plus. (I will say I would have liked to have seen what happened with a few of the "cameos", but it didn't take anything away from the movie)
and...
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
I've never been so ####ing happy to see the Backstreet Boys in my life.
I was surprised to see that the theatre was still packed in its 4th week
I'm embarrassed to say I avoided The Lone Ranger because of bad press. Generally that never happens. I stewed all weekend because I love the serials as a kid. It got me into comics in the first place. I just took my wife and kiddos and we all loved it. Super fun. We didn't go expecting Oscar worth performances or to see a film that would change our lives so we were all pleased!!! I would recommend it on the big screen if you are going to see it anyway...
I was made to watch the first Despicable Me. Did not love it. Can totally see how it's a satisfying movie for little kids, but had nothing for grown-ups to chew on, which is something I've come to expect.

I just read something on Topless Robot that turned my dismissal of that into curiosity. Might have to check it out at the dollar theater.

I've been doing this thing where I am trying to watch all the Disney movies in the Classics collection and I got up to the new version of Winnie the Pooh.
While I know I am not the key demographic (Unlike most modern Disney films, like Tangled or Wreck-It Ralph, that are viewable by all ages, Winnie is pretty clearly made only for kids), something just felt off. Maybe I just miss the classic characterizations of the 100 Acre Woods gang, but all of them felt like they just missed the mark by a little.
Was chatting about 'Old School' at work last week. Then happened to be at the local Future Shop, and they had the blu-ray on sale for $10.00, so I bought it. That is still a great movie, full of some classic ####.
Frank the Tank, Frank the Tank!!!!
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........

I think Old School and Road Trip were Todd Phillips at his best. Simple stories full of tropes and just excellent comedic moments.
Ear muffs.
