Didn't know you weren't a judge... some of them actually have some kind of indication in their profile, etc.
Still (and not that I don't believe you), other than in this thread has there been any comments on this? Has this been addressed at all?
Not that I know of. The reason being is the line you are reffering to is in the quick start rules (notice I keep coming back to that). The quick start rules are *not* tournament legal by any stretch of the imagination and anything you read there should be taken with a grain of salt until you verify it in the complete rules. And according to the complete rules, pushing damage is *not* damage dealt. In fact, besides the glossary, there is a whole sub-heading on page 13 that deals with pushing:
PUSHING
If you give an action (other than a free action) to the same character on two consecutive turns, place a second action token on that character and turn that character’s combat dial once clockwise (the same direction you click a character when it takes damage) after it resolves the action. This is called pushing a character, resulting in pushing damage. The clockwise click represents fatigue caused by taking actions back to back. You may not give any character an action (other than a free action) on three consecutive turns. Pushing damage may occur if a character is the target of or uses some powers, team abilities, or feats. Any time a second action token is placed on a character for any reason, that character
takes pushing damage. If use of a feat requires a character to take pushing damage, the pushing damage from the feat is applied to the character before the pushing damage from taking a second consecutive action.
Notice it doesn't define it as damage dealt, instead as a clockwise click. That clockwise click can not be Master Minded.
A lot of people I know don't even read the quick rules, since they have no real bearing on the game.
Actually, you can, for the reasons mentioned above. It's damage dealt, which can be Masterminded. Damage dealt does NOT need to come from an attack to be eligible for Mastermind- Mastermind can pass on Poison damage just as easily as Mystics damage.
Yeah, hair10 is looking into that. In the FAQ he posted, it says you can, because Mystics used to be damage dealt. Now that is damage taken, you *shouldn't* be able to MM it, but hair10 said he'd check and see if maybe that "takes 1 damage" aspect of Mystics is maybe a typo.
As far as I know, he said he'd look into it a couple days ago and hasn't posted anything further since. In the meantime, this is an interesting dilemma since damage taken can't be MM'd but that FAQ says you can MM Mystics... which to believe?

Normalview is one of the resident question answers, just like Funky Jett and Psylockeslover. Their word is pretty much law. They're always right when it comes to answer questions.

Not always. Not by a long shot. I just try an make sure I look things up *before* I post. I usually manage to surprise myself at least a couple times a week with what I thought I knew versus what the rules actually say.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I can live with that.
Sorry... I've never read that quick start rules had no real bearing on the game. When they said, "The newest version of the rule book is in the Icons Starter." I assumed that meant the whole book (not being sarcastic, just honest).
And to the other poster, according to the newest FAQ you can Mastermind Mystics damage. It's a good read. Clarified a lot for me.

But thank you for the kind words!
Well, everything I've ever seen by you has been correct. I try to live by your example and help everyone out to the best of my knowledge. You're always so modest about it, and you're not arguementive when something contradicts you. You're definitely an asset to this site.

Don't worry about it. Asking questions and getting into discussion on this and the WK boards are probably the best way to learn all the ins and outs of this game. We are always happy to help a fellow clixer out. I just hope that I was able to shed a little light on all this.

Again, thanks for the kind words. Especially the "not argumentative" part. I strive to come across as pleasantly as possible. Perhaps it is part of my teaching experience, but I find it is much more difficult to help people/explain stuff if your audience feels antagonized.

i agrre whenever i have a question he always gets back to me sometimes he may take a little longer getting back to me mking sure he is giving out correct infromation but i always go to him with my question and he has not only answered the quetions but then he always;always explains it to me so i can then go back and understand what he has just explained to me for myslef always a help and i just want to say i truely thank you (toneeoo)
For example, in the section on ranged attacks in the quick start rules, they never say *anything* about not being able to make ranged attacks if you are based by an opponent, or that fliers may make ranged attacks when they are based.
That's probably to avoid unnecessary complication - after all, none of the Starter flyers have range, and the only figure that has a range combat power is Harley Quinn, who has Energy Explosion. (Robin's Smoke Cloud doesn't count...). While it can be advantageous to expose yourself to your own splash damage, I guess the writers thought that particular scenario was a bit too far fetched to put in the simplified rules...
