I was just in a Sealed tournament that I won by default - first round opponent was disconnected after his first move, second game got bluescreened until I was informed my opponent had aborted.
I don't see HCO around in a year. Are they still using the paid beta excuse? I mean, their customer service sounds horrible and after what they did with the league it's only a matter of time.
The problem with the program is, I do see them around in a year. They have found out what makes them the correct amount of money, and that is not by releasing a set every 6 months, but rather, by releasing small sets of figures, previews for physical sets, and figures of the week to continually make them money.
It's just unfortunate for the players that would rather have a new set every 6 months with new maps to play them on.
I just see way too many complaints here HCO cannot make every single customer happy but im happy i have barely ever had any problems on HCO that wasn't my fault or my sytems fault.Im happy with the way it is ran and i hope to see it around a year from now if not ill be deeply sad :-( also the enviroment is amazing ive met alot of good ppl in this game ive only met a few sourpuss ppl I think it will only get better

Positivity has no place here!
Seriously, thanks for bringing a positive note in a hostile thread about Doom and Gloom.
I know I, for one, have loved the last few weeks of playing Wolverine and Colossus before they were released for physical clix.
I am also very grateful for the amazing figures that they chose for the mini-set that came out yesterday.
I am looking forward to the next few months, even if there won't be the big set releases that I want to see.
Here's hoping they get M10 and DC10 in HCO asap.

Awesome experience for everyone it sounds like.
Things like this are my biggest problem. I quit investing any money into the game (and haven't played it either) since I encountered a bug during a paid tourney game. The bug affected gameplay. I documented it, jumped through the proper hoops to get a refund but was denied the refund. I went back and forth through emails with customer service before finally saying "screw it, HCO apparently doesn't want my business".
And until that attitude changes, I won't go back. I know I'm not the only one that has left the game because of the poor customer service. I wonder how many would come back if HCO made some small changes in that regard.
Edit: I just logged in an checked my tourney history... I haven't played a tourney since May 17. I was playing at least a couple a week before that.

I've probably dumped about $40 USD into the thing. I started picking up the weekly fig and would occasionally go to the AH to sell my dupes. Thanks to the AH, I haven't had to pump money into the game in about a month. Considering I've just started playing two months ago, that's pretty good.
Always try to leave an internet argument at lvl 1!
I was a beta tester. I played pretty often until the third tourney in a row of GSX+ where the dice rolls were (strong slang word for intercourse). After that, it wasn't worth it to me anymore, even if it's been fixed.

Crimson, they almost made me quit. Let me paint a picture for you. Figure a has a 12 attack. Figure b has a 13 def. Figure a crit hits and figure b is saved by a reroll. Figure a crit misses. He uses theme team prob to crit miss again.....uses regular prob control to crit miss AGAIN! Figure a is then swarmed next round and is subsequently killed. Blood vessel in brain pops causing a massive stroke. Dice Roll Generator laughs at corpse on floor in front of monitor.

And I still haven't been reimbursed they now want me to find log files for them...and I've spent on the order of $500 on this crap

And this is exactly why I quit playing, which is just sad. How much does a reimbursement cost them? They give you back the CB (and take away your figs if it was a sealed game) which you turn around and put back into another tourney. What does that cost HCO exactly??
But they'd rather jack around and piss of customers, finally leading them to quit. Great business model.

Yep. See, it wasn't bad dice rolls. It was the game engine deciding who was going to win before you even started playing. You can probably search around for threads on it. People started noticing and keeping track. Imagine playing five games and never rolling higher than a 4. And any time that you were probbed off a hit getting a crit miss instead. Meanwhile your opponents never see below a 9. If the random number generator isn't random, this stops being a game.
Like I said, I think they fixed it, but I won't go back.

The problem with all random number generators, is that they are never truly random. Patterns emerge and are repeated.
The algorithm and hardware which are used to generate the results are crucial: Is the result generated locally (on your PC) and passed to the server, or generated on the server, and then sent to each client?
A good method to generate random numbers would be randomly assign different servers (hardware) one of N algorithms, which in turn may be generated locally or server-side.

Keep in mind that WK is for-profit. What would be a reasonable cost for boosters and Fast Forces packs, in your opinion?
1CB = ~$0.05 USD
Currently, single figure boosters are 19CB ($0.95). You can pull anything from a Common through a Chase, but the frequency of SRs and Chases through this model is low. New(er) Fast Forces Pack are 133CB, ($6.65). The older Starters (F4,BN) are 39CB, and come with 7 figures instead of 6, and a map.
The prices in the Auction House are solely determined by the players/sellers; it truly is a seller's market when it comes to many figures, regardless of their "rarity."
What I'd like to see:
Keep single boosters and FotW at 19CB. If someone buys boosters in bulk, cap multiples of the same character to 2.
Fast Forces packs for 75CB (roughly 12 CB for each figure; twice what the older Starters are going for). All come with maps.
4-5 figure booster packs with fixed collation of rarity-- you're guaranteed at least one Rare in a booster, up to a CURSR/Chase Pack (1 of 9-10 configurations). Boosters at 75CB-- 20CB less than 5 singles, currently-- guarantees that you're not going to pull 5 duplicates.
Brick Purchases: Buy 8 full Boosters for the cost of 6 (450CB), get a free brick figure (LE) and up to 3SRs or 2SRs and one chase. Purchase two bricks, and you're guaranteed 1-2 chases.
Map packs = Map + Relic. Emphasis on smaller and mini-maps.
Set limits on min/max values of items for sale in the Auction House, depending on their assigned rarity, not perceived value. While Figures of the Week may have had a limited run, if they are Common, they sell for Common prices. Chases will be capped to not break players' CB bank.

I, and a lot of other folks I know, were very interested in the game until we saw the costs associated with virtual product early on.
