When I was reading Namors SP, I fell in love with it. It seems to play -exactly- how it was represented in the mini. If it did KB damage like Attumas SP, and there were a horde of Wakanda citizen pogs, it would be horrifically glorious.
Yeah ... This game is so balanced now. Wtg wiz kids.

He's 300pts. He's gotta be able to do -something- cool
Nothing is going to convince me that unoutwitable hypersonic with penetrating damage is balanced man. Especially when he can be placed beside a character by another P5 piece and then move 12 squares away.
They have thrown out pretty much every key balance they put in. There are reasons EW doesn't work with HSS. There is a reason movement speeds exist.
I will play this game, but after seeing the dials, I'm not sure why pieces like this are designed except to make your opponent hate the game.

I don't think it'll be as bad as you think. 1) I can't tag your fliers with it, 2) it's contingent on me getting adjacent/behind you to use it. Yes, i'll have the option of Phoenix 5ing him back to position, but that also means that I need to hold back a Phoenix for at least 2 turns to pull off the maneuver.
Namor is likely the most brutal of the 5, but he's still a far cry from any of the team bases, 001 Superman or Ventry. Played as a quintet, they seem very potent. Like, new Galactus potent, which sounds about right. Not breaking the game like Spiral. They have -A- move, that you can work around.
If you want, after this one we can flip it, and I'll run 15-1600 pts of Avengers. I even built a (surprisingly different) team in anticipation

I think you are underestimating that positioning power that they all have - but we will see.

No, I'll run this and we'll see whose prediction comes true.
The reasoning behind my team is pretty simple: I need to hit 19+ defences multiple times, so lots of up modifiers. I have to get through the Imperv etc without outwit - so lots of Penetrating damage (well as much as I could find - less in the Avengers roster than I expected). A couple of PC's to help with hitting and people who can traverse decent distances and hit from range.
Interestingly - only Binary (which would have been thematic) and Quasar have front loaded HSS, and neither would stand a chance at hitting these monsters, so they stayed at home.

Yeah ... it's a fun little piece, but would it have killed them to put a 3 damage somewhere on a 111 point dial? Or something that let's him get through damage reducers? Or bumped his attack up so that I could use perplex on the damage?

He has 3 damage on his 2nd click. He's like a bargain Zoom from Arkham. Get a couple Perplexers in there, and all of a sudden you've got some #####in Alpha Strike.
Thinking about it, if I were to have gone Avengers in this, my team would've looked like:
FI Thor 275 (BIG AV, +2 defense against the 5, HUGE damage potential)
AV Hulk 255 (Same idea, less Defense)
M10 Iron Man 225 (Psychic Blast, Pulse Wave, Perplex, high AV)
FI Dr Strange 145 (PC, Psychic Blast)
ASM Dr Voodoo 134 (Perplex, PB, Support, penetrating for-everyone- )
Tab Wolverine 100 (EW, STOP CLICKS! :D)
CW Hawkeye 98 (AV, damage potential, range)
CA Captain America 83 (Steady AV, Awesome)
CW Scarlet Witch 75 (...yup)
AV Covert Avenger (Widow) 75 (Bargain Voodoo!)
CW Wasp 50 (Perplex, Distracting)
CW Sharon Carter 45 (Stealth Supreme, Perplex)
CW Victoria Hand 40 (AV boost, sneaky end power, cheap)
1600 on the button. While not as intimidating as the 5 in raw powers/numbers, lots of synergy. 5 sources of Perplex, 2 sources of PC (disregarding theme!), and there's not a piece on there that doesn't pose some kind of threat. If I go for Hulk or Thor, Voodoo/Cap/Hawkeye will make me pay. If I go for Voodoo (I almost have to...), the rest are open to bring nothing but pain.

I've never had much luck with him - but then again only a couple of tries with him. Maybe he is more subtle than I expect.

You aren't going to believe this - but the first team i put together looked almost exactly like that. I'm not kidding ... almost exactly the same. Each of those figs were on my list for the same reasons. I ended up swapping all of them out over time. Mainly because I wanted to try to build a team with pieces I thought I might be able to buy on the secondary market, but part of it was avoiding FI pieces as well as they didn't seem quite thematic.
Ah well ... I'll give mine a try.
I've been up for about 22 hours here flying from Manchester to Wash. DC today. I'm going to go to bed and will try to take a crack at this tomorrow for you. Before I fly back on Wed. Ughhhhhhhh where am I????
