Unlike the naysayers on here, I am very happy with these figures. 10 free figures that aren't dripping with cheese and made overly complicated with special powers, traits, improved movement etc. I don't read comics so I don't care if the figure I am playing is batman or scarlet shadow.

These figures were obviously released because a) you don't need permission to make them b) they are easier to create/programme c) they will draw in new players by giving them blackest night/fantastic four + 10 figure starter set for their $2.

The last month has seen Devs pick GF, Spidermans friends, 10 man free starter set plus figures of the week. I don't see why people are complaining, other than those with an axe to grind with HCO.

Y'know, just before With Authority! closed up shop, they released several cards that they said they would never release... for some reason, this feels the same way.

If ClixBucks go on sale in the next month or two, that'll be along the same lines...

LOL... so it looks like this week's "update" is just a new figure of the week... one of the WK created ones that's in the free set they gave everyone. So now you can buy it for 19 CB, even though they already gave it to you for free!

Maybe people want multiples. I don't see any in the Auction House. Pretty cheap Phasing taxi. Plus poison and regen. Awesome for 40 points. Why not have multiples

Plus they are currently working on the Player's Pick gravity feed figures.

Plus we're able to make a players base organized tourney with using only those 10 figs from the WK starter. Those figs are fun to play with...

I got into the HC because of my long history with the comic characters. I build teams based around the characters and comics. I don't have any "connection" to these homebrew figs.

Would I use them? Possibly, but it's not very likely.

I'm the same way. I've been into comics for 40 years and I really thought this game would be fun, but at the end of the day am playing my Legion of Doom and getting crushed by a ATA FF team. Or I'd have the Metal Men get wiped out in three turns vs. a Young Superman with stealth and TK. There was never a real comic book feel to the game.

So they create their own characters and I don't feel overwhelmed with rage because they made an inaccurate dial. IMO they get it wrong more than they get it right. So for me it's not so bad. And it's a nice break from special powers, traits, etc.

Biggest beef though, Black Wave? Isn't this a little backwards naming African-American characters 'Black' whatever? He looks like a generic 70's black guy (unless I'm not seeing him correctly, which is possible).

The WK Starter figures (10) are exclusives that cannot be traded/sold.

You can purchase multiples when they are released as Figures of the Week (for 19CB each). However, the generic (V.I.L.E. Soldier) is really the only figure you'd want in multiples, and that was a FotW during the same time as the set made its debut.

I hope HCO will run a tournament where the winner gets to create their own superhero. If made up, exclusive figures can be created then whats to stop us getting to create one. Would be nice
