DC is deliberately trying to alienate all their fans by going out of their way to outrage them.
By the end of all this, the dozen or so worldwide DC fans that are left will be revealed to be the true faithful believers.

I think the nerd rage for this is even more hilarious than the nerd rage for Affleck-Bats.

Remodeling him even makes sense. He was a parody of all the super-buff, chained comic things we saw in comics back when he came out. Now? Most comic characters are leaner and designed to be more attractive. His redesign fits.
