With TK, you can move an object 10 squares. How many SST figures have a 10 speed (or a tricycle, for that matter)? A TKed object doesn't have to worry about moving adjacent to another figure. A SST figure would also need LC, Phasing, HSS (which a few do have, but not all, and they're paying for it if they do). Of course, so would the Stealth figure (only BatsAlly figures or wild cards, obviously, would also have LC).
In other words there are advantages and disadvantages to both. While there are differences, they're negligible in terms of overall effectiveness. To deny one because it would unbalance the game while allowing virtually the same thing is strange thinking to say the least.
My solution is to allow figures to drop objects they're holding at the start of their action in the square they occupy. That way, you can't pick up, move, and drop the object all in one action, minimizing this "problem" and ending the sticky fingers issue at the same time.
I think it is silly not to be able to drop the objects. So you have a stealth train...big deal. But there are a lot of silly rulings (I think you should be able to carry someone using HSS...my WOTC superman/rookie invis girl combo is gone!!!!). But it is a silly ruling that still needs clarification. Hey, FAQ Gods and Goddesses...put something in the FAQ about all this!!!
Isn't the point of Smoke Cloud to create moving terrain. I know it's not in Marvel, yet. But it seems to be the major concept behind the Batman's team. All of them stealthy and most of them w/SC = moving hidey holes.
