The Defiant was a warship. Designed to engage the Borg, just not mass-produced.

I would be willing to bet that if they ever made an Akira that it would be the Federations only 5 Attack ship. That or the Sovereign with low defense to compensate (the thing turns like a beached whale so...)

You think it is only a 4? Not a 5? If not which class would be the Steamrunner? They are your heavy cruisers made by Starfleet for war not exploration? The Saber and Norway are smaller but would have reason to be at least 3 if not 4's themselves. I just figure with the Akira being the largest of the 4 types of cruisers that it would be the one that does real damage. I know people favor it for the E but that is an explorer not a war ship

By the time Nemesis ends, the Enterprise-E is a warship. I'd give it a 180 Arc and 5 weapon for sure.
The Akira as a 4 with 2 evasion makes me see it more as the ship able to spar with the best the other races can offer, but still is out gunned by a ship generally larger than it. Still, with a good movement dial, it could run circles around some ships and just shred them with enough attacks outside their arc to prove its worth.

The E was the Flagship of the fleet. It may not have been designed for ONLY War, but it was created during the hostile parts of time Pre-Dominion War. Afterward it was equipped with the only source of Transphasic Torpedoes courtesy of Admiral Janeway/Captain Janeway and Voyager.

If it isn't a 5, then honestly nothing in the Fed fleet will be.

Just scanned Memory Alpha and didn't see the reference to those torps you mentioned. Where was it listed or shown?

They were used in the last episodes of Voyager. If that isn't canon then we've got some bigger problems :P

The point was is that the E has precedent for power. Plus Tactics used a fan fiction ship in the first set, so really everything is on the table :P

I meant them being on the "E" isn't canon, yet. But if they do show up it will be on the Voyager if anything. Which ship is Fanfic?

After ToS, I was a DS9 fan, but didn't follow it super closely, and I've only seen a handful of Voyager.

Agreed on the 'E'.

The Enterprise E and the Prometheus seems like natural 5 attack value ships to me.
