Who besides Atrocitus and the Unspoken give opposing characters powers? If you could force the opponent to have a power, then he could always have Variable Threat active.
War Machine 125
Silver Samurai 100
Rescue 65
Book + Null's Hammer 9
=299. I just can't build super teams anymore
God is smarter than we are....

125pt War Machine
98pt Hawkeye
45pt Sharon Carter
30pt Power Plant (Complete)
Total: 298pts S.H.I.E.L.D. Theme Team.
I mean, holy balls. Stick everyone together. Move them into a stealth patch. Hawkeye wildcards S.H.I.E.L.D. TA, Hawkeye has 11 range 3 targets, War Machine has 10 range 1 target, while Sharon's perplex second click and power action from the TA coupled with pushing Warmac and Hawkeye into RCE territory means +3 damage and +1 attack or vice versa, whatever you need.
Take all that by itself and you've got a scary sniper team that almost no amount of swing can escape. The opposing Ant-Man assisted defense teams above don't seem so scary when even at a 21 defense all you need is an 7-8 for average odds of hitting.
But then you put the whole thing over the top with the Power Plant. Electro Blast ring helps bring War Machine in line with Hawkeye for 11 range and at least two targets. Black Light gives us stealth in any position. Disintegration Beam counters other resources.
Did they close the gap? Impact Beam Force Blast. Vortex to Carter and TK your guys outta there. White Light takes War Machines trait and gives us a triple negative perplex to damage and a double negative perplex to hit on willpower dudes. Flame Blast will get past damage reducers. Literally gives you everything this team needs to deal with almost every situation.
Pulse Wave might be a pain, but with everyone clustered together it's gonna be hard to hit a single target PW in general.
Energy Explosion and Poison could be a problem. But those aren't popular strategies right now either.
My vote for next weeks figure to build around would be 130pt FI Valkyrie. I hear a lot of talk about how useful she is, but nobody ever puts their money where their mouth is and posts suggestions as to how to use her. With Avengers, Defenders and Asgardian keywords, that leaves LOTS of room for creative theme teams.
If we are putting the next Break me up to a vote, I say try and make the best team you can around the penguin (unpredictable) resource
There isn't a point in doing something that small. Since it doesn't take up a significant enough portion of the team you can just build a good team around it, and then it almost doesn't need to be there.
I'd also argue that there's no real way to "break" the Penguin Resource dial. Considering he does too little and has a 1 in 6 chance of automatically dying every single turn. You're never gonna build your force around that dial.
But I would like to see some teams that at last have to USE the Penguin Resource to see what kind of teams it complements, rather than being the focal point.
I Just tred to make War Machine as individually strong as possible. Dishing out 4 hammers would allow him to have 2 assigned to him so he could have Nul's and Angrirs. Nuls gives him the willpower he needs and he will now have a +3 attack, not to mention charge and running shot. Enchantress give the prob and tk needed to ensure a hard first strike and the warbot stack with mokk's hammer can tie up and hopefully lay down some pulse wave that will hold up their team while I am equipping hammers. Also enchantress with nerkkods and splitlip with skadis can work as a bit of clean up crew. Nothing too wild.

I'm afraid I have to agree with this. The suggestion is appreciated but we will most likely try to keep it to actual figures that are around 1/3 to 1/2of the build total.

IIM-029 War Machine 125 + 5 (secret avengers ATA)
J2 - 016 Enchantress 50
FI-301 Splitlip 20
FI-403 Warbot (machine gun) 15 X 5
FI-805 Super Fan 3

Maybe not too wild, but I definitely see some potential here. I like the idea that you will be able to take advantage of all your actions every turn. I also like the fact that you'll be able to double up the hammers. Pogs can be a lot of fun too and add a great deal of utility to the team.
For shear force of giggles, break the shadow king next. Fez love.

Nice. Shadow King might actually be a very good choice. His point value is workable and he has some really interesting abilities. I'll be posting the next thread Sunday morning. There is a really good chance this is the figure I will use.
