I disagree, and I agree with DC. Capt's starting area doesn't change he's checking to see if he's closer to it than an opposing character's starting zone. Because he's freindly to DC's team, he's checking the distance from his starting area is closer then an opposing starting area. Since they're the same starting area they're equi-distance and neither would be closer.

This is correct. A Mind Controlled Captain Britain will not be able to use his "home field bonus" except in some *very* specific odd-ball scenarios.

Theme PCs will not be used for Max Lord's benefit. Other situations case-by-case, with the following exceptions:
-If Mister Miracle is hit, no theme PC if he still only has 1 token. He'll use his Escape Artist trait if his super senses fails
-Ice will definitely try 1 theme PC if Phoenix makes a breakaway roll to use Running Shot, but if it's still a success then no further theme PCs will be used

Based on the current rules wording, I don't think the smoke is a DFD - Guy can still shoot Arwen, so you have not prevented him from making "any attack" If Guy does attack and the smoke AV penalty causes Guy to miss, that would be a DFD.
I agree on the OW, though - with Quake, the Bug could have hit multiple figures for 2 damage each, whereas he can now only hit 1 figure, so you've met the "OW a power that would cause more damage" factor.
