This is the first X-Wing release I will be passing on, they look cool, and have cool cards, but I can't justify owning that many repainted miniatures. I will just make do with the three regular Interceptors I have.

If you had, less would you be interested in picking it up? Just curious.
If that is the case there are always new players joining in that would love to get the contents of the TIE Interceptor.
Had I picked up my 3rd and 4th TIE Interceptor (as I was looking to do just before Aces was announced) I would probably have tried to do something like that.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
Just got my Imperial Aces today (two boxes) and I have to say they do look pretty sweet with lots of good options. I don't know if I'd buy a third box though, that's money that could go towards future releases (for which it seems the stats/options will also be good meaning they might be hard to get for a while after the initial release).
And I can see a Star Destroyer in our future. Of course it won't be a full sized one, but I can see them doing a section of one that has turrets designed to run the length of your gaming table or mat. Of course it would be part of cinematic play only, but it would add a sweet element to it

See this is my fear. I got one of these so I have 3 interceptors total, and the repainted models don't bother me in the least.
I got the Tie Fighter expansion, so now I have 3 Tie fighters, that seems good.
I got the X wing expansion, so now i have 2 x wings, and If i buy the transport (maybe) I will have 3
I could totally see myself buying another B-wing (cause I love B-wings) but I might feel wasteful if they come out with one of these or something similar for them.
Star trek is easy, I buy one, because if it is a ship we saw a lot of they might make another down the road (I only bought 2 keldons, and 2 patrol ships) This feels more complicated to me, hence my question.

What was the title again? How many is enough? At least 2! I'd say 4 at the most imo. Two packs allows you to fly both Royal Named Pilots at once (in their proper color), while four packs allows you to fly both Royal named pilots and two "rookie" royal guard (in their proper color).
181rst Blood stripe varient is the hardest since there are already pilots who sport the stripes. If you went the four IA packs route you could field a 100pt list with all "proper" models.
I am leaning towards 2 packs for myself. Lamda flanked by two royal guards (in the proper color) is a must.
* I think it is extremely important to note I base all my FFG purchases from sale/pre-order prices. My four interceptor xpacs cost me $40 with free shipping. My opinion would change if I had already invested $60 (msrp) into interceptors.

Reason: update
I really do recommend at least 1 for Imperial players. It opens up a lot of options for an Imperial player. The fact that every upgrade is doubled up in the pack really helps. The Royal Guard Interceptor title will help you customize some crazy Interceptors. Interceptors with the same HP as an X-wing, sure. Or you can go with Fel with Target Lock. Or even better, more Push the Limits to hand out to your Elite Pilots. The pilots are great, and the upgrades add a lot of options to squads.

There is a Rebel Aces image up on facebook (Check the gama schedule thread for a look)
Guess that answered my question about the B-wing

Nope, I am not a fan of EU ship repaints. However, If they were EU original ships, I'd have preordered them months ago.
I've already got two Interceptors, but will try to grab at least two of these, If my son falls in love with them as much as he has with his TIE Fighters, then we'll grab a couple more later on.
We're trying to save up for the Tantive and the transport so I don't wanna spend more than I have to.
One is too much, zero not enough. Sigh.... I guess I get 1. I already have 4 interceptors, all I want are the cards and I don't want to pay $30 for just them. What is hair10's phrase? A shameless money grab.
I actually prefer the Saber Squadron ships to the Royal Guard ships. The red stripe is so iconic. Love all the new pilots though.
Seems like you are lucky if you can get more today. My FLGS got allocated and sold out before I got there to pick up my pre-order. So I got my two boxes, but getting more was not an option. Probably a good thing for me.
